I have fully bought in that this team stinks and Campbell needs time.

With that said, there is no way you can reasonably throw Becht out there again in two weeks. The season is in the sh*tter and Becht has already lost you two games. It can’t get worse. See what you got with QB2 and then get your engines started on portal season.

On a positive note, Sowell was unbelievable. And I’ve hated on Hansen for two months and he showed some serious toughness today.

Lane wanted to be here. He issued a statement he wasn't leaving and then the team pushed him out the door and paid Neal. Campbell would have stated. That was money. Psu had the money for Ebel and neal.

Don't give me loyalty bs. Open your eyes. Players are loyal to whoever pays them the most.

Stop believing statements--they mean nothing. Just like everything a coach says he wants to stay then leaves
We've seen countless players stay for less

Stop believing everyone was loyal to Franklin
Franklin had a ton of turnover over tge years.

You Contradict yourself. You think everyone e was leaving yet you then say players take less to stay.

Players also take more to stay and psu has more than many teams. Players don t usually leave for less unless they are forced out.

Pretty sure we're not disagreeing here. If new coach was done earlier, and some of recruiting class could have been salvaged, we'd be better off. Lost a lot after last year, and with no recruiting class, this needs multiple years to get back to NC contender. Unless some billionaire wants to throw lots of money penn state's way

You don't fire a coach to pay more for a huge downgrade. Campbell brought his players with him, Franklin took many of his players with him..... whose got the vastly better team??? Again, it is beyond dumb to PAY UP for a huge DOWNGRADE just so you can have the personal satisfaction of firing Franklin in a very public manner. You have way more options if you do nothing and see how the season plays out (if anything, this would have made Franklin really hustle regarding the recruiting class to get back on track this year. It doesn't mean you have to stay with Franklin - you can make that decision at any time after the season. But keeping Franklin in place gives you the most options while keeping your existing roster and recruiting classes STABLE. It alao allows you to do recon and explore your options if you do end up deciding that you want to replace Franklin after the season while keeping things stable and giving the new guy a chance to keep things in place.

Not only are all those coaches thanking Krafty The Clown for all those raises and extensions, but VaTech must be overjoyed at the seeatheart deal they got - Franklin and a boatload of great players that were way better than what they had last year when they were utterly uncompetitive. What did we get for the vast sums of money that we spent on this coaching change??? I'll tell you what we got - a mediocre FBS Coach and a roster of his crappy average players. VaTech spent far less on their new coach and roster and got way, way, way more in terms of players. CFB is a Professional Sport now - the name of the game is VALUE and TALENT EVALUATION. VaTech got tremendous value from their coaching change and we overspent for a mediocre coach and a crap @** roster of wildly overpaid former Campbell ISU players.

It’s beginning to look like Kraft won’t survive this. Between the program being a complete rebuild and the new stadium pricing kicking in, it feels inevitable that he’s toast.

He took a big shot and Campbell may still work out, but the way it all went down doomed the program to a few years of mediocrity at the worst time.

And I’m in the camp that feels Franklin had run his course.

For all of you nimrods that say Franklin is laying an egg at VaTech -- VaTech just beat GaTech to move to 5-2. Through 7 games last year VaTech was 2-5 (on their way to a 3-9 season). Franklin has already made them into a VASTLY IMPROVED team from last year, but all you Franklin-hate know-it-alls keep telling us that Campbell has to be given years to improve the team..... Franklin improves VaTech dramatically improves VaTech IMMEDIATELY in his first year upon arriving, but he sucks???? You people make ZERO sense and are completely illogical in your criticisms of Franklin and defenses of Campbell (just completely opposite of one another). Campbell has taken a very competitive team and turned it uncompetitive with his transfers in his first year while Franklin has taken a completely uncompetitive team and turned it very competitive with his transfers in his first year, but it's Franklin that stinks??????
Lets take a look at that 5-2 and the opposing teams' records minus their games against Franklin Tech:

Win 1: FCS VMI - 0-6 against opponents other than Jimmy U.

Win 2: ODU - 2-4 against opponents other than Frank U Very Much with one of those wins being Norfolk St.

Win 3: Maryland - 2-4 against opponents other than Frank's Hot Sauce U with one of those wins against Hampton and a loss to perennial B1G Top 18 Rutgres.

Win 4: BC - 3-2 against opponents other than Frank's Used Cars U. with 2 of those those wins being against powerhouses Rutgres and Maine.

Win 5: Ga Tech - 2-3 against opponents other than King James' U. with one of those wins being against Mercer.

Very impressive.

5th senior. 2mm to portal. down year explained by injury. I really thought Becht would be the type of QB to win you games, not just manage them. The first game confirmed what I thought. His passes were crisp, on time, and perfectly placed for YAC. BUT it's been all downhill from there to the point where he is losing games. I don't think Manske is ready, but WTH, spend next 2 weeks getting Berry? ready. Wittingham replaced Underwood, why can't Campbell replace Becht? BUT2 he won't. He'll stick with Becht even if he's beat up.

Franklin/Campbell salary is a wash for this year i believe. 8.5 mil. Va. Tech definitely got upgrade from poaching psu players and recruits. I hope Campbell can recruit and develop B1G talent and see if he can get psu to national championship

I like campbell, but im really getting concerned that his old school loyalties and principles are just not gonna hunt in modern day football. You're 0-4 in the big ten, season is over....you don't coach like there is something to play for, but youre sticking with becht? Im sorry coach, but we need to figure out if manske is "it" or not, because one more year of this **** and you need to be gone. Burn the ships bub, figure out what you got and what you need heading into 2028. There is literally no point in playing Becht anymore. Wish the kid well on his life's work, but its over. Is campbell loyal to Iowa state guys or Penn state?

Players take less to stay...not just here...everywhere. we've had countless examples of this.
Not sure how it's contradictory...never said they were leaving for money.
Players leave all the time without being forced out. What era do you think this is?

Who beats us? Maryland or Rutgers?
Both teams will be sky high to beat us. Kick us while we are down. Both will play great games. Minny can easily beat us with our putrid QB play and no run game. Purdue now has a pulse. We could be 0-8. 1-7 is certainly plausible.

I think we have seen enough to know Campbell will not get us to an elite program even with tons of NIL. Give him 3 years and look again for somebody. Not a good situation. I want to be patient but it is not all bad talent. Some of this is coaching like why is Becht terrible. If we blamed Franklin for Allar not developing or poor WR play you gotta do the same with Campbell. Horrible O Line. He shares in responsibility. I look at it this way, even with a marked improvement, he is nowhere close to an elite coach. Right now Chesney was a better choice same for Sumral and Golesh. He was a safe choice and it is not working. Hope I'm proven wrong but the facts are not lying now.

Run game is like a high school JV team so if your comment about Hansen is he is a good HS JV player then I agree. Our RBs are God awfuI. And so is our run blocking. Again, Campbell has to share in this piss poor product we are witnessing. No free pass.

Yeah bench Becht but Campbell probably won't do that.

Miserable times in Unhappy Valley.

Everyone in the world thought Campbell was a great get when all was said and done. He was really behind the eight ball with the late hire, I dont believe the guy after 7 games here turned into a total chump.

Bullchit. Franklin doing his usual rolling up of stiffs that this PSU team would roll the same way.
This is sarcasm correct?? Wisconsin, northwestern and Michigan are all "stuffs" and usc ain't much better. Hahah. This year was made fo JF because the entire schedule was full of "stiffs"
