Maybe they were using the double secret play clock Michigan used against Western Michigan.
Well, since B1G play started I haven't approved of much, but we have a fullback and a quarterback under center!
Why are they doing this to us? Just teasing us before the L.
True--forgot we had to add a second in Michigan
Getting us excited before they allow Michigan to march down the field and score a TD.
No. The roster would be slightly better. Campbell was still bringing in ISU players. His talent evaluation and recruiting skills are average at best.
You also listed coaching, clock management, unwillingness to adapt as problems. Those issues are 100% on campb ell.
Campbell stinks. Chesney was the guy. In 3 years psu will get another shot.
At the 12th hour, Krafty The Clown's candidates had come down to Sitaki, Campbell and Chesney. Krafty The Clown managed to order his targets the absolute diametric opposite of how they should have been rated. UCLA is looking to go 6-0 tonight and Chesney made it well known that he wanted the PSU job over the UCLA job...... Krafty could screw up an orgasm.
That's a false assumption regarding him bringing his guys
With more talent those mistakes are often hidden--see Franklin
We likely will get another shot. Can't blame MC for Chesney not being here.
Well if you could have down by 3, 10:00 minutes left , and first down on your own 40, you would probably take it . Let’s go .
Silver lining - start next year’s defense by paying #17 to stay in HV. Kid is a fantastic player.
I’m sure Ohio State and Georgia have their eye on him.
What a choke artist.
5th year starter and when a game is on the line, he can't hit a mountain if he's standing on top of it.

Would not be many changes. There were better players who the camp ell staff did not want. We could have kept lane and Campbell for the same mo ey that went to Neal and Ebel. Becht got more money than grunk.
Campbell was bringing in isu guys using the cignetti model.
I’d still say Rojas followed by Collins and then Sowell. But he’s certainly up there.
Yeah, because Ohio State can’t afford to pay him, plus offer him a chance to play for a title.
We simple disagree--who do you falsely believe wanted to be here that isn't
Grunk was NEVER staying--he was loyal to Franklin. James has made countless comments that made it clear he knew he was following him. The "insiders" here will tell you the same.
He brought his guys out of necessity
Can't get out of their own way. Keep getting handed opportunities to win, and they just keep blundering their way toward defeat.
the last couple of weeks inspired me to write this… please feel free to modify or amend as it is a “living”poem :
Bring Back Franklin, Blow Campbell Away
Oh, how we miss those Franklin days,
When Penn State played with fire and praise.
Now Campbell stands upon the stage,
With empty words on every page.
He talks of grit, he talks of pride,
But where’s the team that backs his side?
A thousand speeches, polished and grand,
Yet nothing worth a damn in hand.
Now Franklin couldn’t coach a lick,
His game-day calls could make you sick.
But man, that guy could sure recruit,
Five-star talent in every suit.
He’d blow a lead, he’d botch a play,
And coach a big-game win away.
But give him talent, give him time,
One lucky year, we’d reach the prime!
A busted coverage, a miracle catch,
A playoff bracket, a perfect match.
We might’ve stumbled to the crown,
And painted Happy Valley town!
But Campbell’s got a different plan,
Just say nice things and shake a hand.
He preaches culture, trust, and fight,
Then finds new ways to lose each night.
Oh, Cyclone winds, come roaring through,
We’ve got a little job for you.
Sweep Matt Campbell far away,
And bring James Franklin back to stay.
For Franklin’s flaws, we knew them well,
His fourth-down calls were football hell.
But at least he gave us hope each fall,
With Campbell, we get words. That’s all.
So bring back James, despite his flaws,
His lousy clock and timeout calls.
We might’ve won a title by mistake—
But Campbell’s just a lot of talk and heartbreak!

For all of you nimrods that say Franklin is laying an egg at VaTech -- VaTech just beat GaTech to move to 5-2. Through 7 games last year VaTech was 2-5 (on their way to a 3-9 season). Franklin has already made them into a VASTLY IMPROVED team from last year, but all you Franklin-hate know-it-alls keep telling us that Campbell has to be given years to improve the team..... Franklin improves VaTech dramatically improves VaTech IMMEDIATELY in his first year upon arriving, but he sucks???? You people make ZERO sense and are completely illogical in your criticisms of Franklin and defenses of Campbell (just completely opposite of one another). Campbell has taken a very competitive team and turned it uncompetitive with his transfers in his first year while Franklin has taken a completely uncompetitive team and turned it very competitive with his transfers in his first year, but it's Franklin that stinks??????
Wow. If Becht starts after the bye week, I may stop watching entirely.
