This team finds a new and different way to lose every week. Twit boy saying any team is a guaranteed win against this awful team is beyond laughable. It's nearly as good as his claim that VaTech isn't vastly improved from last year - last year VaTech was 2-5 seven games on their way to 3-9 for the season. This year they're off to a 5-2 start playing an extremely similar schedule to last year, but they're not vastly improved because Load-O dipstick boy says so??????
The issue isn't if PSU and Franklin needed a parting of the ways. The issue is how it was handled and who PSU settled for to replace him. PSU fans are learning a painful lesson that new is not necessarily better.

Finding new ways to screw up is what losing teams do.

Four problems this game:
  • Not getting 7 on the first drive
  • 2 Underwood INT = 0 point
  • 3 Becht turnovers = 21 points
  • 4th Q, 4th and 3 on your own 45ish, punting. You’re running out of drives and need points.
Agree with the first 3, but won't give the defense a pass. The punt backed Michigan up to the 6. First play, a 41-yard run. I know the Becht fumble was awful and put the defense in a bad spot, but if anyone, ANYONE, on back side had any speed, Carr is stopped. on THIRD AND NINE! and Michigan kicks a field goal. Now, do the math on the final score. Of course, that assumes the defense stops Michigan with a minute plus on the clock.

For all of you nimrods that say Franklin is laying an egg at VaTech -- VaTech just beat GaTech to move to 5-2. Through 7 games last year VaTech was 2-5 (on their way to a 3-9 season). Franklin has already made them into a VASTLY IMPROVED team from last year, but all you Franklin-hate know-it-alls keep telling us that Campbell has to be given years to improve the team..... Franklin improves VaTech dramatically improves VaTech IMMEDIATELY in his first year upon arriving, but he sucks???? You people make ZERO sense and are completely illogical in your criticisms of Franklin and defenses of Campbell (just completely opposite of one another). Campbell has taken a very competitive team and turned it uncompetitive with his transfers in his first year while Franklin has taken a completely uncompetitive team and turned it very competitive with his transfers in his first year, but it's Franklin that stinks??????
Franklin's time was done. Yes he had a good 2026 class coming in, but he put himself in the position he found himself in. Unfortunately Kraft waited 3 months to put a head coach in place, who possibly could have saved the recruiting class. Campbell has 3 to 4 years to see if he can get us back to national prominence.

Fine with no Franklin, but upset with an ad who is arrogant and knows nothing, with a coach who pays for Rocco becht

Lane wanted to be here. He issued a statement he wasn't leaving and then the team pushed him out the door and paid Neal. Campbell would have stated. That was money. Psu had the money for Ebel and neal.

Don't give me loyalty bs. Open your eyes. Players are loyal to whoever pays them the most.
I can understand loyalty factoring into Becht, Neal, and Ebel coming, vs any opportunity or cost for options concerning Grunk, Campbell, and Lane (or King).

Lynn being named DC late might have affected options and choices, or not.

I am just hoping Campbell and his coordinators, especially Lynn, share opinions and the outcomes of their opinions on players that fit the culture and strategy going forward.

Although Franklin couldn’t coach his way outta paper bag at least Franklin could recruit and we had the jimmys and joe’s…

this guy can’t recruit or coach….

We are now Nebraska …. Weeeeeeee!
Not defending his game management issues, but please explain your take on recruiting…when he got hired, portal was emptied of good players, recruits had already bailed, better players left PSU. I’ll wait…

Poetry is art in its purest form. It gives voice to what we struggle to say, finds beauty in our pain, and reminds us that even in the darkest times, words can bring light. Sometimes, a poem can’t fix what’s broken, but it can make the weight a little easier to carry.

the last couple of weeks inspired me to write this… please feel free to modify or amend as it is a “living”poem :

Bring Back Franklin, Blow Campbell Away

Oh, how we miss those Franklin days,
When Penn State played with fire and praise.
Now Campbell stands upon the stage,
With empty words on every page.

He talks of grit, he talks of pride,
But where’s the team that backs his side?
A thousand speeches, polished and grand,
Yet nothing worth a damn in hand.

Now Franklin couldn’t coach a lick,
His game-day calls could make you sick.
But man, that guy could sure recruit,
Five-star talent in every suit.

He’d blow a lead, he’d botch a play,
And coach a big-game win away.
But give him talent, give him time,
One lucky year, we’d reach the prime!

A busted coverage, a miracle catch,
A playoff bracket, a perfect match.
We might’ve stumbled to the crown,
And painted Happy Valley town!

But Campbell’s got a different plan,
Just say nice things and shake a hand.
He preaches culture, trust, and fight,
Then finds new ways to lose each night.

Oh, Cyclone winds, come roaring through,
We’ve got a little job for you.
Sweep Matt Campbell far away,
And bring James Franklin back to stay.

For Franklin’s flaws, we knew them well,
His fourth-down calls were football hell.
But at least he gave us hope each fall,
With Campbell, we get words. That’s all.

So bring back James, despite his flaws,
His lousy clock and timeout calls.
We might’ve won a title by mistake—
But Campbell’s just a lot of talk and heartbreak!

PSU stands 7th in the conference in 2027 recruiting. A NC is right around the corner.

Pretty sure we're not disagreeing here. If new coach was done earlier, and some of recruiting class could have been salvaged, we'd be better off. Lost a lot after last year, and with no recruiting class, this needs multiple years to get back to NC contender. Unless some billionaire wants to throw lots of money penn state's way
