That’s beyond pathetic but, hey, we recruit and graduate “Rutgers Men” so there’s that!!!Greg Schiano's average margin of loss against top 25 ranked teams is 25.4 points. Dude can't even compete lol.
The ball is the program! He was working on that number for a while while running the clock when behind. Didn't help much I guess.
It's the power of the fieldhouse.Wait a second…..you mean…..COACHING MATTERS???!!!

Totally agreeThat’s beyond pathetic but, hey, we recruit and graduate “Rutgers Men” so there’s that!!!
The funniest part is he actually had one beat (Illinois) and decided to ice the kicker going into a gale force wind and over 50 yards. Schiano beats himself constantly. That’s beyond pathetic but, hey, we recruit and graduate “Rutgers Men” so there’s that!!!
He lost a lot of people that season. No Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, or Oregon on the schedule and he couldn't manage to win 5 conference games. In addition to brain farting the team into defeat against Illinois, there was the inexcusable loss to a terrible UCLA team at home, the utter collapse against Kansas State in the bowl game, and getting boat raced by a mediocre Wisconsin team. The funniest part is he actually had one beat (Illinois) and decided to ice the kicker going into a gale force wind and over 50 yards. He lost me long before that, but it was then I knew he was bona fide coaching moron. The only thing worse than that call was the explanation post game. Didn't even have the guts to say he f'd up. I'm sure he lost the locker room that day. Would have most certainly lost me.
Thanks Greg!Greg is still going backwards and destroying whatever semblance of a legacy he thinks he has with each game.
Did anybody in the Big East in 2008 have more talent than Rutgers did?The key variable OPs analysis is missing is money. Most of the games we lose are against programs with more money. Most of our victories have come against programs with similar or less money.
That’s why the optimal solution isn’t to change coaches, it’s to simply invest more.
Did UConn in 2011 have ‘more money? A better roster? The key variable OPs analysis is missing is money. Most of the games we lose are against programs with more money. Most of our victories have come against programs with similar or less money.

I know it violates the ‘NIL manifesto’ but it’s not all about money. Schiano has had opportunities against programs in duress but nothing matters. He simply cannot win games. The key variable OPs analysis is missing is money. Most of the games we lose are against programs with more money. Agree and hyperbole isn’t needed to make the point. It’s all there while still being fair. No coach was going to win games in those seasons you cite.you really have to be fair He started in his first 2 years going 3-20 following Shea and then, taking over for Ash 8-14 in his first two years. That is a combo of 11-34 taking over the worst two teams in the NCAA - that makes the rest of his years a combined 88-74 just saying
Two things about 1.0. There were almost always 5 easy OOC games and of course the terrible 2010 season was a part of the last 4 seasons. Just a terrible team that year that was hard to reconcile in year 10 kind of like this year is hard to reconcile.in 1.0 it was .573 and 2.0 it's .449 (in 1.0 during this time, he had 11 players drafters...ouch)
this puts him in #8 worst and #3 worst respectively
He is an absolutely horrid coach inside the stadium.
it's ok to feel below

sorry friend, I'm responding due to my respect for you but I've left his board. I'm done with RU football and Greg. I'm completely apathetic now and don't care what happens. We're not a BIG program, we're a Patriot league program pretending. I am now of the opinion that we do not belong in the BIG. shocking as I've been one of it's most ardent defendersTwo things about 1.0. 2010- was coming...if you look back- you could see it. GS 1.0 had years that he did not even recruit a single OL. That is just crazy. Almost as bad as 2.0 having a year with no QB coming in. And for the first time- in the couple of years before 2010 - the star ranking become more important to GS than the actual player and filling out a complete roster. The Savage fiasco made it even worse. Two things about 1.0. There were almost always 5 easy OOC games and of course the terrible 2010 season was a part of the last 4 seasons.
