Why is it that every homicide victim is sent to State Medical for an autopsy? I mean damn! “ Local man found dead in street with multiple gunshots to the head. His body has been sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy and cause of death”. Huh? They don’t do it with car accident victims or the like. I mean, is there any doubt what killed him? Who makes that call? Coroner? Something ain’t right

If there was no autopsy to confirm the cause of death, in certain situations it could be very easy for a defense attorney to make a jury believe that the actual cause of death was something other than what the defendant is on trial for. Its just standard procedure, and they do it for car accident victims if they have reason to believe a party to the accident was intoxicated. NOT having an autopsy for a homocide victims would make someone go "hmmmmmmmm"..
As a 30 year funeral director with an embalming fluid brand for my user name, I’ve been debating exposing the entire death care industry here on this forum for some time. You aren’t wrong, but you’re on a very bottom tier level of the corruption. Death care industry (including coroners/medical examiners/funeral homes/cemeteries/organ recovery agencies) is the most appalling breach of trust you’ll ever see.
Cause of death: homicide, suicide, accident. I’m sure most others are forgone conclusions but if it is going to court it needs evidence and a formal analysis.

Not a question you hear everyday but definitely a funny *** question.
All homicide victims are given autopsies because a dead body can hold lots of clues that can pinpoint motives and suspects that can be missed on the street. Evidence such as the types of bullets, drug use, fibers, and DNA evidence just for starters. Even the food in their stomach can be evidence.

I will just add, when my son was involved in the hit and run in 2020, the Harris county ME called to let me know my son did not have Covid at time of death.

I had a cremation seminar in Jackson once and he was there getting the same certification. William Moody was an Actual funeral director he told me about how he would call up local funeral homes to get the caskets for that nights show when they needed one depending on which city they were in. His wife was sick at the time and he had taken time away from WWE to care for her. Super nice and humble dude tho and one of the greatest wwe characters of all time.
