I don't there was ever any animus towards IMar, he was just a giant that had to be toppled; ironically, Spencer Lee wound up being sort of irrelevant; and Suriano wound up just being a passing distraction - even though his departure left 125 in the lurch for quite a few years, it didn't hurt the team's success very much, if at all.

Why is a title always followed by a make believe "likely 2 (with appropriate rationalization)"? He helped Iowa win 1 team title and he was probably the best Iowa wrestler in the Brands era, with McDonough and Metcalf pretty close.

The only "fire" he took that I recall was from the wild hyperbole about him from the Iowa crowd and Flo and the incessant coverage of him from Flo. Oh, and the glasses thing, which is some funny sh*t even today. It was one title, just a little blip in the timeline. Penn State has been just fine without him, thank you.
