Then they just would have lost 24-23 instead of 24-20. 0-12 on 3rd down=a gassed defense. Needed the TD to be up 3 scores. A functional offense at the goal line would help.

Mirrors PSU against WISKY. o_O . It feels like there have been similarities between PSU and the Iggles the past couple of seasons.

before they blow up the roster, they will fire Nick. No way Howie and GL are wrong.
Nick has demonstrated time and again that he can’t dictate a functional offense without a real star OC. And that’s with outrageous talent.

You may be right that he’s the easy first target. That’s an easier attempted fix than a roster loaded with expensive dead years.

If Hurts hadn't messed up the handoff to Bigsby on the 3-yard line, he probably scores and the Eagles win the game. The hole was there.

That’s only because Howie tells you he’s great at his job
Howie just gets rusted parts w a great reputation and says see! You have everything you need!
Howie has a much better track record than Nick. There’s a reason Nick isn’t highly regarded in NFL coaching circles.

He’s a good culture setter and man manager, but he leaves a lot to be desired tactically.

Howie has a much better track record than Nick? Really? how soon we forget the Jalen Reager (sp) and Andre Dillard's of the world or maybe even Eli Stowers. There are plenty of hits and plenty of holes if he was JL son he would have been fired by now.

He's literally one of, if not the best GMs in the league. He essentially built the most formidable OL in a decade. And then brought in Barkley to run behind them. He routinely works magic with draft capital, somehow ending up with better/more draft picks then he started with. He has fleeced numerous other GMs in trades. He drafted Carson Wentz, who essentially got the Eagles the #1 seed in 2017. When Wentz went into the tank, he traded him and turned it into Jalen Carter, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Cooper DeJean. Speaking of 2017, almost all of his FA moves ended up being gold and a huge reason they won the SB.

Dougie P an Nick are both middling coaches that were gifted incredible rosters. And both had huge flops after super bowl appearances. I used to think Howie was not that great, but he has consistently proven me wrong since he came back into power in 2016.

knowing you wont be fired has to help. draft capital is great, but not the end game. We've had some injuries so where at the 2026 draftees to help? I think there are a ton of guys out there who could do the job, but they worry about making mistakes and being fired, Howie doesnt have to worry about that.

Bottom line.
Howie is widely rated by independent sources as the best GM in the NFL.
Cursory review of coach ratings indicate that Nick is middling. (If you can find sources rating him in top 5, please post)

Conclusion. Howie is much better at his job than Nick.

got an A here https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-all-32-nfl-coaches-nflpa-report-cards/

top 6 here https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25440991-power-ranking-nfls-top-10-head-coaches, found this note interesting..
Sirianni has to be the only coach in the top 10 who is seemingly perpetually on the hot seat.

my point is I think Howie gets way too much credit for the job he does. If he had known what he was doing , he never would have drafted Hurts, knowing that would throw his MVP caliber QB into a funk.
