I got to take East Lincoln simply due to how efficiently they pass the ball. Can West Iredell slow that down?…they have too…because that’s where the Mustangs make hay! It should be a great game!
We’ll see.

Bandys

Hickory…the daggum mustard zephyrs…at least it ain’t Hellman’s mayonnaise. 🤢

Newton Conover…it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Knights give them a fit.

Lincolnton
Hibriten
Burns…in a thriller.

Go! Boom Devils

Good luck! Y’all. 😉
EL a go on that one.
Bandys of course
Hickory well yeah

Whats the actual status and performace level of Agee and does Newton pass alot or run alot? North can't guard a decent passing game. Only saw them play WL(and Lincolnton on youtube) and thats what I observed. They played without Agee that game and the running game was not impressive, they just did enough to beat a weaker team. This one is of course the toliet bowl of the conference with Foard looking on wondering how they might finish but does North stand a chance based on what you (or whoever has seen both) have seen out of both teams?

Everything else self explanatory, my man for going with my Burns pick. I'm just basing that one off of how they handled Crest. They play this game like that game they got this. But by a THIN margin

Tonight will be an interesting JV matchup with North and Newton. Newton on a roll and North may have what it takes to upset and hopefully show the crowd they can bring some positives for next season that were lost after they walked off the Hickory field 2 years ago

Conference Picks
East Lincoln at West Iredell (Game of the Week)
Foard at Bandys
Hickory at Maiden
Newton-Conover at North Lincoln
Bunker Hill - Bye

Non-conference picks
Lincolnton at Bessemer City
Hibriten at Chase
Stuart Cramer at Burns

Conference Standings
East Lincoln (6-0), (4-0)
Hickory (5-1), (4-0)
West Iredell (5-0), (3-0)
Bandys (3-2), (2-1)
Maiden (3-3), (2-2)
Bunker Hill (3-3), (1-3)
Foard (1-4), (0-3)
Newton-Conover (1-4), (0-3)
North Lincoln (1-4), (0-4)

Hibriten (5-0), (2-0)
Lincolnton (5-1), (3-1)
Stuart Cramer (4-1), (2-1)
East wins with depth. And depth tires out smaller teams.
Bandy's keeps rowing
Maiden underdogs
Newton but feel like an upset could happen if Agee finds his way.
Lincolnton
Hibriten
Now the toss up going with burns. Cramer might of left it all on the field last week against Shelby and may be flat

Newtons JVs are killing it. Destroyed North last night 42 to 6 and remain undefeated. Will this be the team to beat 2 years from now? Norths JV's was giving them a glimpse of hope but so much for that. They make up for it all in the other sports ha ha

Simmon ratings has East Lincoln by 8
Some things working against WI in my thought on this pick for EL is they havn't been battle tested other than Maiden. Taking it to those Blue Devils was huge and NOBODY saw that margin of defeat coming but other than that WI really hasn't played anyone. EL has played Providence, barley took that one and Providence is not great but they're strength in schedule is more than that of around here. On paper we can say this and that but tonight its gonna come down to who wants it more and gets the luc,ky calls/turnovers. I'm going with East in a nail bitter.

If from what I'm told is true Newton JV is sophomore heavy which is a big advantage. With a good freshman LB 😂. But most other jvs have kids moved up already maiden JV is bare bones at this point
That's why JV results don't always translate to varsity results. Last year Maiden won the JV conference championship. We didn't have a single Soph. or Freshman on the varsity roster. This year we have seven (2 Soph. and 5 Freshmen believe it or not) listed on the varsity roster. That's the best of your JV team, especially when you consider some of them would probably be two-way starters.

Its bare bones in alot of places, some dont even have a team. I didnt mean to reply to this thing twice that was an accident. I watched EB last friday and dang there wasn't much on the sideline, some of the sideline was injuried kids. Some wore out boys down there playing both ways. Back in the day you was doing alright if you was the 2nd man on the depth chart to whatever position.

Sophmore heavy that can be a difference lol. North has maybe, I didnt count accuratly, 3 or 4 maybe 5 soph. Like I was saying they may have a pretty good freshman class that MIGHT bring them life in 3 years. Theyre gonna need something after what looks to be a one win Sally season

My class on JV lost to McDowell 35-0. Beat everyone else and lost to Freedom by a TD on a botched play. 2 years later we got our old team back, lost to EVERYONE we beat 2 years prior except Watauga and lost to same McDowell boys by a FG!! Dang thing skimmed his finger tips on an almost block.

Good memory, oldburke. JV is where kids learn the high school game and adjust to the speed of play. Hickory is fortunate to have a lot of interest in being a Red Tornado. Coach Glass has done well moving sophomores into the eight quarter arena ans getting them playing time on the varsity level without compromising thier JV eligibilty. We had a sophomore player transfer out because his family felt he should have been starting on varsity. They were just impatient.

The lack of patience is a big thing now with these kids everywhere. That and they let their parents and friends get into their head making them thino they are better than they really are.
