We all knew how this was gonna go in court. Cheeto was gonna lose. He objected, in very public fashion, to the coverage he was getting from CNN, MSNow, and Politico, so he pulled their White House press credentials. They promptly sued and won, District Judge Kelly (whom Trump appointed) ordering Trump to restore their WH press credentials. The Judge's order came out around 1:00 A.M. this morning (9/24). Apparently, representatives of all three companies were present at 12:30 or so for Trump's welcome of Chinese President Xi.
But at or around 7:30 P.M., a MSNow reporter (and perhaps reporters from CNN and Politico as well) were denied admittance to the dinner in Xi's honor. The rest of the White House Press Corps was admitted. CNN, MSNow and Politico went back to court, and Judge Kelly is not happy about having his order be ignored.
This particular "constitutional crisis" (as some are calling it) will not end favorably for The Donald. Even Tricky Dick Nixon knew that you can't ignore a court order. Expect contempt proceedings to be commenced following Judge Kelly's appointment of a special prosecutor (because the DoJ will not prosecute a contempt citation against one of Trump's other minions). If I'm Susie Wiles, I'm concerned about the possibility of being stuck in the hoosegow for up to six (6) months. And as for Cheeto himself, ignoring a court order will not sit well with GOP legislators or a decent swath of the electorate, including Republicans.
