Bloomsburg wrestling just announced they will face Penn State at Rec Hall on November 12th. I’d love to see Cael & Co add a few more dual meets with in-state teams to the schedule. With 5 for 5, he could use the early season to give the depth on his team a chance or two to compete against outside competition while still resting starters when needed and avoid much travel expense even if some of those meets are away from home. https://onwardstate.com/2026/09/19/penn-state-wrestling-to-host-bloomsburg-on-november-12/
I would like to see Penn State host either a Keystone duals or open tournament.I’ve been pining for more tri & quad meets for years now. This would be a nice way to work the smaller PA schools into the mix.
Other schools are scheduling more tri meets. Clarion is hosting Lock Haven & New Mexico Highlands this year. Morgan State will be participating in three tri meets this year.

Although Penn State is yet to announce it’s 2026-2027 schedule it appears its opponents at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals in Binghamton on December 20th will be Duke, Oregon State, and host Binghamton.Duke is listing Penn State as one of its Journeymen Classic opponents on Dec. 20 in Binghamton, N.Y.

Northern Colorado is slated to be in NY that weekend but only lists itself as wrestling Binghamton on Dec. 19. It's also calling that a trip to the 'Southern Tier.' Duke is listing a match with Northern Colorado on Dec. 20 that Northern Colorado is not currently listing.
Buffalo, meanwhile, is calling it the Binghamton Duals and lists Oregon State, Northern Colorado, and Duke as its opponents on Dec. 20.
Suffice it to say, I'm working on getting more info.
Yes, see story above our two posts.Although Penn State is yet to announce it’s 2026-2027 schedule it appears its opponents at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals in Binghamton on December 20th will be Duke, Oregon State, and host Binghamton.
that has really not been our coach's MO, but I guess we'll see if 5/5 changes that at all. With a team as deep as Penn State’s, and Binghamton only a bus ride away, I’m wondering how many team members might be given a chance to compete in one or more of the 3 dual meets? Sure, starters need work against outside the room competition leading into the B1G10 season but giving some of the backups a chance at a spot start, given this team’s depth, would be great for the fans and useful for the team as a whole. Just my 2 cents.
Just an opinion, only if they charge a couple hundred bucks for single ticketsThree BJC's, the WVU one will probably be curtained off in upper deck, like Oklahoma last year
Either you've had way more than two joints or they were both the size of the "Roman Red" in History of the World Part I.......Based on past experience here, I’m certain the people posting on this board are more than willing/capable of maintaining posting discipline in separate threads to accommodate such a division.
I believe at this point Cael just trolling everyone that complains our schedule is weak.Woof.
Rec Hall sells out every match, and BJC doesn’t even with giveaways. Maybe that’s it? Idk.Kinda weird. Two tickets for four Rec Hall matches cost $316 or $39.50 per ticket, more than double last year's price. Three BJC duals cost is $200 for a pair of ticketsfor each match or $33.33 per ticket. I'm totally confused.
I don't know about Iowa, but PSU fans will always show up! We can be wrestling the St Marys sisters of the blind and I still want to watch our killers do their thingIowa and PSU not signing up for tough non-conference duals OR tournaments is infuriating.
Only thing fans could do to show discontent is not show up.
This sucks.
Well. Would have been a lot nicer to have that Thursday one actually on Friday since we are already coming for football.Looks like we have a Thursday night and Saturday night duals. Nice to have a little variety versus the usual Friday/Sunday duals.
Wrestling is a 2nd semester sport already. Look at the first semester schedulesIowa and PSU not signing up for tough non-conference duals OR tournaments is infuriating.

Yep. might as well kill it.Wrestling is a 2nd semester sport already. Look at the first semester schedules![]()
I believe that Cael would have said... "Regardless of which teams we wrestle on our schedule, the matches we conduct in our room every day represent our toughness opponents by far."I believe at this point Cael just trolling everyone that complains our schedule is weak.
Reporter..”Cael, are you doing Nationals Duals this year in Stillwater?”
Cael “Um, no we have a really good schedule. We like the journeyman event and how it’s formatted. They do a really good job.”
Reporter “I see you wrestling the 3 worst teams at that event. Is that something that went into the decision?”
Cael “Oregon States coach beat Askren twice, PJ wanted us to wrestle Duke since they have same name and Binghamton is a top 75 program”
Reporter “NDI is loaded with top teams. No interest in testing the boys?”
Cael “We’re going to Oklahoma. They will fill the stands and it will be a fun dual”
Reporter “But, But..”
Cael “you coming to our opener?”
Reporter “Bloomsburg? No that’s going to be a blood bath”
Cael “match count is important, need to make sure our guys get the matches for RPI, rankings etc”
Reporter “ Yes I know Cael but this could be the weakest non conference schedule I’ve ever seen”
Cael “we hosting all star classic, our whole team invited”
Reporter “I give up”
In both examples there is a severe lack of the word “right?”I believe that Cael would have said... "Regardless of which teams we wrestle on our schedule, the matches we conduct in our room every day represent our toughness opponents by far."
It's a very valid complaint. The matches prior to NCAAs aren't free.People complaining about the greatest dynasty in modern sports. We’re fortunate to watch this team. Coach has shown time and again he understands how much to push his wrestlers to prepare for the ultimate goal of winning national championships.
