Almost impossible to judge Dylan at Nebraska outside of his stats.

Why?

We judge every QB on a number of things. But you continue to suck the air out DR's football and glorify his carefully manipulated pass %.

I know I'll get a 23-sentence run-on response from you (no paragraph breaks is a bonus) But why is it "almost impossible" to judge any QB outside their stats?

I believe K State and Iowa State were both at the bottom of Division I win totals until things got better for them KU and Okie State were often easy wins. I think Tom played something like 25 ranked schools that today would be considered p4 schools in just his first 10 years alone and he won more than half of them. The Huskers used to always played ranked teams in bowls as well.
KU at one point was considered one of if not the worst D-1 football schools.

Agree

Dylan’s stats are honestly the last thing anyone should use to judge him

The cosplay, the hangers-on, the atrocious body language, the complete lack of leadership are where everyone should start

and where everyone should’ve been paying close attention at the outset instead of arguing against facts (all of which I of course was pointing out from day 1)

Dylan was a legacy 5 star recruit, the head coach making 10 million bent over backwards for him to come here, including retaining his awful uncle as the most important position coach while not providing any real competition or opportunity for development. He was also saddled with one of the worst OCs of the last 10 years in the entire sport, one of the worst oline coaches, and played every game until that oline broke his leg. He is also the slowest qb I have ever seen, and has a ton of holes. Again, not really going to judge a true freshman and sophomore from a leadership or mental perspective...he was certainly alot better than Lateef.

So ignore the literal football and then criticize him for how his body looks in between plays...that fricken weird. But I am doing the same thing with Colandrea so....

I don’t ( didn’t) mind Dylan. Most of his issues was Dom related. He was controlled by Dom . He would sit in HS student sections at BB games The reason ge came to Nebraska was because Dom had full control and he knew Rhule would start him. I won’t root against the kid but I will be surprised if he is QB1 when Oregon comes to Lincoln next year

You gave 0 reasons he cannot be judged beyond his stats. You are making excuses for the kid that were actually caused by DR and/or his family. No free pass.

I liked him and rooted for him. But your obsession with his completion % is extreme. Judge him on the whole package. He chose Nebraska knowing Satterfield was going to be his OC. Then he had a little bit of Dana as OC. Early indications are Dana is a better OC with Colandrea than Raiola.

Look deeper man... good grief.

He was a good qb, we were 13-9 with him, and 1-3 without him and 3 blowout losses. 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio, 73% completion. Only missed games when leg was broken. Can't judge his shiny shoes, or stuff behind the scenes cuz I don't care or didn't see it. Team fell apart when he left the field so I can't assume he was the main problem.

Supposedly the whole team came unglued when the OL room committed mutiny over some guy named Raiola. Anyhow, we are entering the real part of the season now so we can begin to have better comparisons of the new vs old guy.

Almost impossible to judge Dylan at Nebraska outside of his stats. He was a good qb, had good stats, and made himself available when his leg wasn't broken. There was always going to be too much drama and politics going on behind the scene and the fact that he was saddled with Satt for his first year could be considered criminal. And then the fact that Rhule had to make a change mid-season just adds to the dysfunction. People conveniently forget that Rhule was being pressured to fire Satt his entire first year, refused to do it, then gloated about how smart he was when we scored a lot against p2w teams, then had to reverse course after getting annihilated by Indiana and going on a losing streak perpetuated by anemic offense. Dylan became a husker against all logic, made himself available, put up with criminal incompetence from his bosses, and took a huge pay cut to go learn from what appeared to be better coaches.
Making excuses for DR is a full time job for you

What measurement are you going to use to say he was a bad qb? In 2023, Nebraska qbs combined for 16 ints, and 9 fumbles...25 turnovers...Dylan walked in as a true freshman, into a complete and utter mess and improved it dramatically.

We might have been on the wrong side of this in the 80’s and 90’s. Just saying. It’s kind of what we were known for.
Yeah we did beat up and have lopsided wins, but they were against teams like Minnesota (84-13 1983 & 56-0 1990), Iowa (57 - 0 1980), Arizona State (77-28 1995 after 63 points in the first half and then they shut us out the next year :( ), Washington (55-7 1998), Oklahoma (69-7 1997), Colorado (59-0 1981 & 52-7 1992), Missouri (63-6 1991), Oregon (63-0 1985).

There are certainly plenty of others that could be listed and some that are not P4 teams, but the teams we were known for beating up on were not FCS opponents. Some even, like Washington, were ranked in the top 10. Pretty sure the biggest problem was that our best offense was to run the ball and we were just damn good. Might have actually been more merciful to try throwing the ball around with the 2nd and 3rd team rather than continuing to run.

Riola was definitely an improvement from what we had. When Hes got a bunch of time and open receivers Hes solid. But he had no pocket awareness, poor mobility, holds ball too long, poor decision maker and lacks competitive drive.- thats not a winning recipe. Weak leader. Add on his bad uncle coach and off the charts dad/ just not a great fit. I don’t care now - keep your mouth shut kid and just play.

It was 84-13. NU also played 3 QBs and 6 RBs. In addition, Nebraska didn't punch one in as time was expiring when they could have just taken a knee. Bb
Away game we brought 60 kids per rules. Stupid Minnesota was in a goofball quack defense thst stopped NU on first drive/ no other stops. They stayed in it almost tje entire game. Huskers definitely didnt pile it on
