Lou Holtz ran a QB draw on Joe Lee's blitzing D and picked up a huge chunk. Joe Lee just kept blitzing and Lou Holtz kept on QB drawing for big plays. Joe Lee's D was never the same after he was exposed in this game. This was my Senior year at State, so I can't complain. Jackie and Joe Lee gave me some good experiences during my college days in the previous years.

That was a quick change of emotions for me. Thought for a split second he was pulling out the GTHOM but immediately was relieved and in agreement when it was a GTHBL instead. Time/place and such.

I remember 1995 when South Carolina had Tanneyhill at QB and Duce Staley at RB. They whipped us proper and put up 65 points or something.

2000 - we knocked Phil Petty out of the game & backup Eric Kimrey thru a dime for a TD on 4th & approximately a mile very late in the game maybe the last minute.

ah yes, that is right. One of the first of many defeats grabbed from the jaws of victory I have witnessed as a State fan.

We promised to not forget. I didn't but America has seemed to forget what happened.

15 of 19 hijackers were Saudi Citizens. 2 from UAE, one each Egypt and Lebanon. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi.

Two Saudi Gov't officials are known to have met two of the hijackers and helped them find apartments.

Then the Royal Family was allegedly involved and many think they funded the whole operation. Plenty of information that you can look up on it if you like.

Our sitting President has taken Billions from the Saudi's. Why? What did he give them in return? You don't believe me, Google Saudi Trump financial ties and see what you get. Turmp's Son-in-law, Kuschner, got 2 billion to invest in a new private equity firm of which he had no experience running. Lots of money has flowed into all parts of Trump properties outside of that 2 billion. Much of it as licensing fees with no real service provided.

I can't believe any American can accept this sort of behavior as being OK from anyone but certainly not our President but I bet a dollar someone will say... no that didn't happen or that's just business or that was 25 years ago or he didn't rape those women much less those children on Epstein island.... wait that's a different thingy.

Those were my formative years of MSU football. I think maybe everybody gets an idea in their heads around 8-12 years old. That was the end of Rockey and the beginning of Jackie for me. I had even convinced myself that MSU was a good program and the Rockey years were the aberration.

Then that game happened. Then we lost to Bama and Ole Miss. And these things kept happening.

I would argue that JLD’s defense broke in 2000 given all the leads we blew and high scoring games we found ourselves in.

That team was a frustrating one. 4 losses and all 4 were in games we led by at least 9 points.

Most talented roster we've ever had. But they just didn't have that edge in them that the previous year's team had. Tends to happen when a have-not program has a year like 1999......folks get a little complacent.

But we had lost some real talent off that 1999 defense (Bean, Cooper, Simpson, McKinley). I'd say Jackie's handling of the crootin broke things more than JLD's defense. Then of course in 2001 we were total trash with those AZ Western guys.

Secondary had a few flops that year. Kendall Roberson was in class with me and he's the one that gave up the bomb to South Carolina. He was a great player in 98 but never really recovered after his knee injury.

I was a kid and ‘99 is the first season I kinda remember. Have done a lot of revisiting those teams over the years.

There were warning signs in 01 beginning with the Memphis game on Labor Day night. But it probably wasn’t until the trip to Gainesville before everyone realized just how much of a bind we were suddenly in.

One of my favorite moments of that game was the Governor of Mississippi welcoming America back to college football at the "People's University" made me smile. Not to be political but miss the country being united like it was at that time. Now let's go take out the Varmint Cong tomorrow, Hail State!
