Rewatched the game. Wr's made me want to break the TV. Between Gilmer's drops and the running backwards nonsense, extremely frustrating. Those lost yards will matter in conference play.

It's like having a layup in bball and dribbling back out to try to chuck up a 3. Take what they give you. You aren't taking it to the house every play.
Black’s 2 false starts had me cussing and shaking my head.

What game did you watch? 10 open yards in front of him? Guys were closing in at full speed. He wasn’t going to make 1 yard. You are creating excuses for a faulty mindset you have created about a couple of players without even knowing what their mindset is. Utterly ridiculous to pre-determine that is their playing culture.
You must be thinking of the wrong play. Hunter had the angle to the sideline and would have made at least 10 yards. And that's not just my opinion. I do have the Barney catch linked below though. Anyway, it shows a lack of discipline in my opinion and could easily get corrected. But that really just depends on if we are well coached or not.

100%!! A missed FG and an easy drop by their wr and we’re down in the 4th. We look like we run in sand and that’s not changing. Any speed team or strong run team is going to light us up. Keep the cup cake schedule so the brass and pay stays in tact.
We had a lot of drops but they also dropped multiple long passes against man coverage. It appears Aurich is ok leaving corners on an island, and they were beat multiple times. We are weak in the middle and I suppose you can alleviate this by bringing safeties in the box and there are five more teams on our schedule who probably won't throw much better than Ohio. Looks like a 6 win team, non-competitive against the top 10 teams we play. Predictable but infuriating to me because of the amount of money being spent.

Raiola would have taken at least 5 sacks yesterday. Shoot, we maybe lose without Colandrea’s feet. He picked up multiple first downs to keep drives alive and had that TD.
Dylan dominated teams like Ohio the last few years...the scary part is that Colandrea was running for his life so often...a decent qb should be able to sit and pick apart a team like Ohio with a veteran offensive line.

I agree with this however……the second half he did have much more time than the first half.

I personally think you are reading too much into it. Our greatest special teams return ever started with a backwards retreat.

People were also complaining of AC yelling at Rhule and Dana after Gilmer dropped another pass. "He shouldn't be yelling at the coaches" is such a weak statement to me. Of course he'd be pissed off at the drops, he's putting it in their hands!

Fix those drops and get rid of the BS blocking penalty and we would have dropped 60+ but thats in the past.

Fix the drops and run the mf BALL!!!

Thats not a fair comparison because the level of competition is mediocre at best and our pass pro got exposed after non-conference was over last year. Lets wait until after BG and ND before we compare.

I loved it. Those drops will kill us in Big 10 play, even against teams like Maryland. Our trio is pretty dang good at running after the catch. They just need to do the little things to sustain drives and they'll get opportunities to house it.

Agreed, but the shimmying and dancing for 10 yards only to gain nothing won't cut it. Maybe I'm just griping too much

To about the 30 yard line. Not the 7.
Nice catch. But I’ll stay with my belief that he was trying to make a play. I love aggression. Trying to say he is just being A “show off “ is bs.

You are gonna hate my response so exit right now if you want too.

AC did not throw 32 passes into their hands. He missed. Sometimes awful. I didn’t see receivers bitching about his throws.

AC needs to learn some touch. Throwing the fastball from 15 yards doesn’t give the receivers a feel for the ball coming in and can literally have enough force to go through your hands making it difficult to catch.

I think he was already talking to Dana about this after the game (according to Dana presser). Dana agreed he needs to put some touch on it vs a bullet … “with that said, catch the ball, it hits you in the hands you gotta catch it”. Dana is awesome on the podium!

Trying to make a play doesn’t excuse stupidity. That was stupid.

It was stupid because it didn’t work. He was one defender away on his outside turn from a TD. Would we be discussing it if it worked? But let’s not forget…….we still scored a TD that series.

From my view it looked he had zero chance of making it work. It was stupid. Know where you’re at on the field. He did the same stupid crap last year.

A valid point but I was referencing the drops specifically, not every single pass. AC is gonna have to zip the ball in between the secondary and he did so over the middle a few times. He's no Brett Favre, his passes were for the most part catchable. And it isn't his fault if the receivers can't put their mitts on the ball regardless of speed. They need to be able to catch regardless.

Even the commentators mentioned hard thrown. I have an unrepairable rotator cuff and I can still throw a ball hard enough that you can’t catch from 5 yards. Imagine a division 1 qb throwing it much harder through fingertips.
Now in saying that…..not all those drops were thrown hard. All I’m saying is he needs work on his touch.

He was going to get at least to the 18 if he just ran out of bounds. He did the same stupid crap last year. 5 star talent. 1 star decisions.
At least 18 yard line. Nice. Maybe he thought he could get more. Maybe coaching staff says field every catch and start at 25

Was that Holgerson who said some of those balls weren’t covering much yardage and there was a lot on them. Said AC has and can throw a better ball on those intermediate throws.
