What happened in the Keys Zheng match was unbelievable. It's been a long tough road back for Qinwen since her elbow surgery last year. Not too long ago she was #4 in the world, but had fallen to ~120 heading into the US Open meaning she had to win three qualifying matches just to get in to the tournament. She's a great story.

I have been taking a wait and see with Eala. She is getting better at it, but her serve is just killing her. If she can get a good solid serve I think she has all the other tools to win a major.

Shelton is 3-0 lifetime against Lehecka but 0-1 lifetime against Tsitsipas.

That being said, I think Shelton will beat Tsitsipas by hitting heavy topspin forehands into Tsitsipas's one-handed backhand.

Jovic vs Eala was incredible! Couldn't turn it off. These two will be going at it for the years. Was amazing how each took turns just stepping into the court and hitting howitzers at each other. No one can consistently change direction on a cross-court topspin ball and hit down the line Jovic.

Maybe my favorite match so far of the Open. Hoping we see the contending for majors for 15 years or more

Also didn't watch the end but very proud of Tien for winning that match early this morning. I still believe he's the Americans best hope to have a male contender.

Pegula vs Cristea--Pegula has the easiest quarter to win right now--huge opportunity by Cristea's playing the best tennis of her life this year
Navarro vs Kalinskaya--shocked both have made it this far--gut says bet against Navarro but coin toss really

Alcaraz vs Paul--next
Tiafoe vs Medvedev--Tiafoe's been playing great; Medvedev hated tennis and life a week and a half ago--great opportunity for Frances
Shelton vs Tsitsipas--Shelton should win this but I say that a lot with Ben and he doesn't
Michelsen vs Etcheverry--going to be tough to Michelsen but a great opportunity for him.

Townsend went up 3-1 in the 2nd set with a break and didn't win another game. She got tight and Sabalenka took full advantage. I really liked the way she got through what had all the making of a very tough match against a doubles playing crafty lefty.

I enjoyed Big Foe. Looks like a possible semi final run before losing to Alcatraz of course. Town is probably done after tomorrow but if he can somehow get by Karen, he has a shot at the semis. Someone else needs to beat Sasha though. The problem has always been that no American can ever beat the old big three and now the new big three. I thought Alcatraz would be rusty but no luck

Zheng just found her groove and put a lot of pressure on Iga. Really inspirational to watch.

All credit to Zheng. Her level of play started slow and she really just stepped up once she got down 5-0.
I do think Iga is really struggling mentally right now (like some of the other top women) but Zheng earned that

I believe point made by the commentators was also spot on. Iga set the bar and forced the other players to raise their games. That’s exactly what has happened and Iga is now part of the group at the top instead of being the one on top.

Based on experience, yeah, you have to give the nod to Coco. Jovic is very, very good--might not be her time yet but Coco-Jovic is going to be a battle for years. Mirra awaits the winner--going to be an elite QF either way just like Noskova/Sabalenka
