Awesome win for Shelton. Such high level tennis…both of them had some lulls, but Shelton’s fitness really carried him through.

Was hoping to wake up this morning and watch the replays of last nights matches on ESPN App, but of course all the media are giving the results. Wow! Wish I had stayed up a little longer for Pegula/Navarro. Go Jess! Never would I have guessed Shelton over Alcaraz. I'll have to watch/listen to some summaries. Can only guess what kind of hell it was getting home from Ashe last night!

Kudos to Shelton...way to prove me wrong lol
This is probably the best chance for an American to win. One is guaranteed a spot in the final and worst case it's Sasha who is great but not Sinner or Carlos.

I think Alcaraz wrist injury finally came into play. Think this was his first tournament after rehab. I've never seen him spray shots all over the court as he did in the 3rd last night. But congrats to Shelton for being able to take advantage. If he brings last night's game to Friday, don't see how Tiafoe can win.

After watching the final set of Shelton/Alcaraz I can only hope today's matches are half as good as yesterdays. Probably the best 12 hrs of american tennis in a major ever.

Odds are now -110 for a US Man to win (implies about a 47% chance). Zverev is now the obvious favorite, but not overwhelming...and a loss in his next two would mean the US player will be favored on Sunday. Shelton is a pretty solid favorite over Tiafoe.

Remarkable tournament for Alcaraz given where he was a short time ago. I’m already anticipating the Australian Open in January expecting we will see a healthy Alcaraz and a healthy Sinner.

Regarding these ridiculous late nights one would think the USTA would be doing more to bring the matches to the masses to help build the sport.

I personally love it, but do understand that not everyone likes to stay up that late watching. It was the perfect storm of 4 insane matches yesterday. Though they e already tweaked the schedule today to avoid it getting as bad (though part of it is getting the women done early since they come back tomorrow).

Nobody is going to help us by beating Sasha ..but I have been wrong nearly the entire way so far 😂. So I hope to be wrong just one more time

Congrats to Rybakina..we'll deserved world #1
4 of the top 5 seeds for the women will be in the semis....couldn't be better than that honestly.
Zheng had a great run...should be very happy

Townsend and Sinakova into the women's doubles finals after beating Schnaider and Mertens. Caught the 2nd set. I follow the Czech players pretty closely and I thought Sinakova was the dominant player of this team given all the doubles titles she's won. After watching the past couple matches however it seems that her and Taylor have a pretty good chemistry going where they motivate each other.

Hopefully they meet up with americans Robin Montgomery and Ali Kueger in the finals.

Townsend and Siniakova are excellent together. Dabrowksi/Stefani are probably the only ones that could beat them but, also rooting for the Americans

Don’t hate me, but I was rooting for Alcaraz. He iand Sinner are my favorite players.
Nothing wrong with that
I love watching the greats -- I'd take Sinner vs Alcaraz in the next 20 Grand Slam finals and be thrilled.
It's why I'm so happy about the women's side--we have the top 4 players (Mirra's right there with them too) battling it out
Meanwhile, if Sasha doesn't win the title at this point he flopped horribly.
I'm also torn on if Shelton is likeable or annoying

Well looks like Sasha vs Karen barring one of the biggest comebacks of all time in any sport
I'm going with titles for Sasha and Rybakina (not what I want just what I think at this point) so everyone bet heavily on Coco and Karen lol

1v3 and 2v4--let's hope it lives up to the potential. I'm happy regardless of who wins but Go Jess just because she's the only one without a major.

On serve in the first--both are playing their best tennis. This is arguably the best I've seen Pegula serve

For anyone that didn't get to watch Pegula/Sabalenka and just see the score you need to ignore it--this might be the best I've ever seen Jess play--sadly, it's the best I've ever seen Sabalenka play as well. Not over yet so maybe Sabalenka collapses but....just wow...impressive

A+ tennis by Aryna. She may lose the #1 ranking, but when she plays like this she’s unmatched.

Pegula got dominated. She's a solid player but lacks the power and shot making ability to get over the plateau she's reached.

This isn't true. Pegula was great tonight but Sabalenka was basically perfect. Pegula plays like she did tonight she beats anyone else in the game. She actually showed great power tonight if you watched it.

Coco and Rybakina early on aren't nearly as sharp as Pegula/Sabalenka. Both struggling with their first serves--Coco surprisingly doing great on her second serve. Rybakina's in a little bit of trouble here

Thought Coco had that locked up at 4-4 in the second but horrible service game as we go to the third
Coco's been significantly better so far IMO--expect her to win unless Rybakina picks up her game quickly

I’m wondering who Coco is playing. They never talk about her. It’s all Coco.

I often agree with this--I know they're playing to what casual fans want so it doesn't typically bother me
I will say today though--this match is all about Coco--if she manages her forehand and serve she's going to win
Rybakina has yet to adapt--I have no idea why she continues to go to Coco's backhand. Rybakina did actually make a nice volley there so hopefully she starts coming in more even though she doesn't want to

If I was Rybakina's coach right I'd probably be losing my mind--she completely blew that game--should be up 4-2. Can't do that and win this type of match. Hopefully I'm wrong but I have no clue what the hell she was doing there

Happy with Sabalenka/Rybakina as the final. The quality of the first match was much better than the second match. Rybakina has to be better than that to beat Sabalenka.
