No, Todd Ellis was QB. It was 1986. The next year was the “Payback is Hell” game at WB.Feel terrible for Western Michigan. They won the game & it was stolen from them. Big 10 not having it. Can we say LSU here 2 yrs. ago? Not the same scenario but you know what I`m talking about. For you old timers, it did give me flashbacks of when we went to Raleigh and beat N.C. State. But wait - refs discovered another second or two, gave them time to score the "game winner." Nothing beats home cooking. I think that was when Ron Bass was QB, someone please correct me if I`m wrong.
Most fun game I have ever been to was the 1987 game. N C State had like 3 total first downs and less than 50 yards total offense. Their starting QB left the game on a stretcher. No, Todd Ellis was QB. It was 1986. The next year was the “Payback is Hell” game at WB.
Dick Sheridan was my coach in high school and was the NCS coach then. My seats that year were in the end zone where the student section is now and I had moved down to where I could speak with him and wish him luck when they came out the tunnel but W-B was friggin rocking; I had never seen fear in Sheridan before and it shocked me so I didn’t even try to get his attention. The NCS players looked like wide eyed little kids up close like that. Most fun game I have ever been to was the 1987 game. N C State had like 3 total first downs and less than 50 yards total offense. I was standing over the visitor's tunnel when they came out, they looked awe struck. Then Sterling Sharpe ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and the route was on. We whooped their A $$ much worse than the score indicated.Dick Sheridan was my coach in high school and was the NCS coach then.
