As an old mentor used to say. You don’t fire without already having a plan for the hire. And plan meant having “discussions” and “agreements” in place.
At the moment, the easiest person to have discussions with is someone who isn’t currently working and with whom you have a prior relationship.

Fire him now! Promote the new DC to interim head coach and keep the staff in place. Use the rest of the season to re suit the new head coach and raise money for Nil and buyouts!

This poll shows one thing.

16%. That's the percentage of our Schiano fanboi fanbase that is in a cult.

That might not have happened, yet, cut I hope a plan is being formed and a list of candidates being considered to contact once the derision Schiano must be replaced is made

UMass might be better than BC.
I don't care about that, but the thought is nice.
I only care that Rutgers proves better than BC and how it looked against UMass
I voted not to fire him ( right now) but want him gone if he doesn't win at least 8 games this year.
Right now , with the season inderway, the choices to replace him are slim pickings , unless Kelly's itch yo coach has him willing to accept what Rutgers has to offer after buying Schiano out .
Jimbo Fisher's available as well, but he might not be much better.
Wait till the season's over to give Greg the boot and then go for the best willing to come and fix this mess

If Zinn isn’t ready to fire Schiano next week, at least fire the Schiano kids. I believe these nepo babies work for Zinn technically bc of NJ’s anti nepotism law.

Slow to hire fast to fire. Don’t fire unless youve already done your homework. And you know your candidate(s) are making the move once presented with the contract.

Greg is the best coach Rutgers has had since going Big Time. But that tells you a lot more about Rutgers than about GS.
Were any of you around here for Anderson or Shea ?

Yes. Anderson had no support and wasn’t given enough time

That's what Shea and Ash said too.
Burnsie was expected to play D-1A football on a D-1AA budget when Rutgers started playing mainly D-1A programs instead of mostly D-1AA opponents

Honestly, I don't think Zinn has the balls needed to make the tough decisions
Joking aside, The Grifter has the upper hand not only with the buyout and also the legacy and support of the biggest donors.

It’s not that she won’t fire him, it’s that she can’t. Not now and not after this year.

How many WTF games has GS 2.0 had, and no upsets.

vs Illinois
Vs Nebraska
At Northwestern
At Minnesota
Vs Penn State last year

has the most assistant coaches, and still outcoached all the time.

wasted time bringing DCs

can’t develop defensive players when Joe H wasn’t here

so he isn’t the tallest compared to Ash, Shea is more about RU than anything else…

just get Brian Kelly…

Why can't she though? I suspect the AD will lose more money keeping him than buying him out now in the long run.

Sounds good but probably untrue. Highly doubt it’s better financially to fire now or even after the season.

You think new coach and new staff costs, plus current buyouts would be outweighed by increased ticket sales ? No way.

Ticket sales will decrease no matter who the coach is.

Someone should look up his record vs Interim Coaches. That should be interesting.

That’s a “this year and next” way of looking at it…if he’s not the answer and the AD truly feels that way, ripping the band aid fast, even for cash strapped RU is the way to go

If she’s allowed to make the tough decisions
She either can raise the funds to fire him or can’t. If she does, she can fire him whenever she wants. She’s in charge. Hobbs used to walk to Schiano’s office for meetings. Keli makes him walk to hers. She’s the boss who was handpicked by the president. They inherited Schiano. All ADs want their own hires. Especially in football and basketball.

After a few days of reflection I've decided to cast my vote. I doubt it will happen anytime soon, but please don't let the replacement be whoever was coaching that RU defense on Thursday. And if the RU football staff is as large as some are saying, it needs some serious cutbacks. We're getting seriously shortchanged.
Rutgers fans deserve better than this.

Check it out yourself. Plenty of assistants and directors. I can't imagine many of those things being full-time jobs. For some, I can't figure out what the job is. Lots of savings opportunities here. https://scarletknights.com/sports/football/coaches
