Another warning on the incompetence of Hobbs. A good AD doesn't allow themselves to be bullied like that. A good AD would have had a list ready well in advance of Ash being fired (since everyone knew that was a forgone conclusion) and the minute Ash was gone, would have been on the phone with candidate #1 and wrapping them up right away.

As an old mentor used to say. You don’t fire without already having a plan for the hire. And plan meant having “discussions” and “agreements” in place.
