Should they be euthanized and their wealth confiscated?the fact that this country is still under Boomer influence and “rule” is ridiculous!
IGM, FUIt's hard to imagine a generation more self centered and more selfish than Boomers. Their own kids hate them. They don't have much to do with their grandkids. A lot of Boomers have retreated to states like Florida to live it up while a lot of their familial relationships fall apart.
… I think we can find a middle ground between allowing Boomers to continue to GRAPE our futures and euthanizing them.Should they be euthanized and their wealth confiscated?

actually, I think I would just personally like the Boomers, even those that I love, to just shut the F up. They were a generation that was literally handed their wealth, did little to earn it, and have provided very little to the country and civilization as a whole other than crushing debt.
Gee, I didn't realize they were all "literally" handed their wealth.… I think we can find a middle ground between allowing Boomers to continue to GRAPE our futures and euthanizing them.

Who handed it to them?
Anybody who thinks younger people have the same opportunities as Boomers is clueless. From jobs to education to housing. It's all way harder for young people to break in. And a lot of that stems from Boomers voting for Republicans and corporate Dems that box poorer people out.Anyone who thinks the boomers were "handed their wealth" is really clueless. I'm not part of the boomers but I respect what they accomplished and we're all living a better life because of them. Now might be a good time to tell the boomers around you, Thank you

And for the record, Gen X is responsible, too. But that generation is way smaller. In general old people vote for themselves.

Will I be safe if I have few assets?Should they be euthanized and their wealth confiscated?

... (worried Americans: the retirement crisis no one is talking about) here's a video that might make you consider your statement about boomers being handled their wealth....… I think we can find a middle ground between allowing Boomers to continue to GRAPE our futures and euthanizing them.

My parents are boomers and they hate their generation.
Is it the Boomers as a class who are awful, or is it that so many of the awful oligarchs and plutocrats are boomers? The expectations are different, which in turn makes it seem harder. When I was growing up I drove a car that would die at every light unless I kept my foot on the gas. I loved that car. In today's world the kids want the newest phone, the nicer car, and if they don't get it, they're pissed. The young people these days don't want a starter home or even a larger one that needs work. The young people want the perfect house with all the fancy features. Like I said, the expectations make it seem harder, lower the expectation and it won't be so difficult.
If the boomers have so much money, then why is it so hard for their kids. I provided for my kids. I can't control whether other parents provided for their kids. so if you had parents that didn't pay for your college, that's on your parents (not the whole generation).

If you had to blame Boomers or Republicans, which would you pick?I love his statement that the boomer generation “built the United States as we know it” and how it was meant to be positive but things are free falling so bad due to them holding onto power and wealth it will not be what he thinks it means. The country is in freefall. That was not the positive statement like thinks it was in fall of 2026.
boy, I'm glad I'm not a boomer...

They recognize the majority of their generation were really selfish in the policies and politicians they supported as well as many refusing to leave the work place for other generations to step in….most especially in upper high management roles and politics. No nation should be controlled by 70-80 year olds.Wow, they hate a lot of people. Have they met everyone they hate or do they just like to hate?
It’s the Boomer Republicans in power in all three branches of governments and corporations. If you had to blame Boomers or Republicans, which would you pick?
Yeah, yeah, neither is all bad, but one is clearly more to blame.
Not own 3 houses? Retire earlier? Or, oh my god, give back to the community. BoomerHolding on to wealth? What do you expect people to do with their money, hand it out on the street corner?

They also talk how they were the first generation caught up and hoarding and building and flashing wealth at all costs and the irony of how so many were hippies. They had so many who were a I me mine generation as my dad says.
At first they were defensive about it but they kinda get the hate as do some of their friends post MAGA due to how many fell in line behind Trump.

You really think every boomer has 3 houses? You really expect people to retire early? I know you've been programmed to think all boomers are bad, but I would suggest you educate yourself about ALL the boomers, and not make generalization about a very large group of people. Not own 3 houses? Retire earlier? Or, oh my god, give back to the community. Boomer
The expectations aren't different. Even 1950s style starter homes are largely out of reach for younger adults. Same with education. Kids come out of school with insane debt now. Used cars are hyper expensive. And jobs are way harder to get. Meanwhile younger people are more educated than Boomers and Gen Xers yet are working to rent. The expectations are different, which in turn makes it seem harder. When I was growing up I drove a car that would die at every light unless I kept my foot on the gas. I loved that car. Boomers voted for the policies that enabled this concentration of wealth. As Boomers dwindle, wealth will become even more consolidated - favoring the already wealthy
