Dan and Lance were not good enough to start at Clarion, let alone Alabama. Joe played them both in seasons that were basically lost. As I said before, Joe LOVED donations. Ask the Hornyak family also.
It was the same Louisiana judge. SEC has an appeal on Friday before a Federal Judge in Alabama. This is not over yet. What an absolute mess!

Honestly the Louisiana judge's ruling was sound. Not sure how anyone disagrees with that. We can all hate the fact the NCAA lacked to common sense to know this would be a problem but there's no way a judge is declaring them ineligible

Couldn’t the SEC just say that you forfeit any game in which those players play? I don’t think that they have the guts to do that, but they should.
Here again you have a fanboy judge superseding a governing body of a sport. The NCAA just should cede its power to enforce laws governing college sports to common pleas courts judges in these backwater college towns, because we all know that they’re not going to prevail in any lawsuit.
There’s no doubt in my mind that this ruling is just the beginning of the beginning, and players who fall outside of this ruling are going to bring suits to force their way to play college sports even though their eligibility is exhausted, and they’ll prevail.
Yes it is; it’s basically turned into a free for all now. This sport has gone back about 120 years into the future when players often played on more than one team at the same time in the same season in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The sport basically now is ungoverned except by local judges. This sport needs a Teddy Roosevelt now to do what he did to reform college football in the early 1900s.

I wish I knew more about the legal system to understand how these local judges can issue orders that affect the entire country. I have a friend that works in a county and she has told me in the past the judges are treated as Gods basically by everybody else in the county, even the other politicians.
The old saying that nature abhors a vacuum applies here. Because legislatures that are supposed to enact laws have become inept because of tribal bickering, judges have filled that vacuum and now have turned into legislators. Also, federal judges aren’t elected, so they can legislate with impunity.

I remember he started for us in 1988 vs ND and was horrible as we got boat raced. Granted Notre Dump won the natty that year. Lonergan was in that dead zone dark ages for PSU QBs between Schafer who wasn't so hot but just won and won and won so more and then Tony Sacca. I think the other guy during that era was the great Matt Knizner who's claim to fame was subbing for Schafer in the '85 Bama game and throwing a TD to Siverling I think.
I didn’t see the game live but all I can take from the game is that the Colorado edge got to that kick in a hurry. Was he even blocked?

Stanford playing last week then this week against Miami is just a lot this early in the year
Miami is "only" favored by 24.5--if it wasn't week 1 I'd be taking that.
The GT special teams broke down on the right edge of their line. It didn't look like the CU guy was blocked, he was all over that kick. FG had no chance.
