Hey all- Just wanted to mention this because it turned out very well for my family & it might help someone else out there looking to continue playing football in college....
There are 2 conferences of Sprint Football operating at colleges: A 10 team league in the Northeast (CSFL) and a 6 team league in the Midwest (MSFL). Sprint is simply football with a weight limit. 11 on 11, all the same rules, except all players must be less than 183 lbs.
For my son, it offered an opportunity to continue playing without fighting his body to put on weight, and provided preferred admission to school that is very difficult to get into as a non-athlete. As he was going through recruiting process last summer, I somehow stumbled across this option and we're glad we did as most people, I'm guessing, don't know it exists (even their HS coaches).
