Hey all- Just wanted to mention this because it turned out very well for my family & it might help someone else out there looking to continue playing football in college....

There are 2 conferences of Sprint Football operating at colleges: A 10 team league in the Northeast (CSFL) and a 6 team league in the Midwest (MSFL). Sprint is simply football with a weight limit. 11 on 11, all the same rules, except all players must be less than 183 lbs.

For my son, it offered an opportunity to continue playing without fighting his body to put on weight, and provided preferred admission to school that is very difficult to get into as a non-athlete. As he was going through recruiting process last summer, I somehow stumbled across this option and we're glad we did as most people, I'm guessing, don't know it exists (even their HS coaches).

Great suggestion for those young men who are still wishing to pursue football in college.
My grandson played Sprint football at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD for 4 years. It is a big deal and they play mostly ivy league teams as well as Army!

There's a team in the MSFL right here in our own backyard... Quincy University.

My buddy Connor McGlaughlin was their first head coach after leaving his HC position at Mendon-Unity. He has since moved on to focus on his young family. Website says the HC/OC now is Kirkland Burton, who is an alum of the Sprint FB program at QU. He's also the QHS strength coach.

Hope you have a good trip and good luck to your son's team. BTW -Navy has been the league champions a couple of times. What team is your son on?
Yes, Navy & Army have won the league a large majority of the years. My son is playing for UPenn. Hoping its a competitive game, but September in Annapolis should be a great time no matter what. :)

Have a great time. Enjoy the seafood as it's usually freshly caught and oysters are in season.
