our fanbase sure is infected with crybaby bitches
So you ***** about the bitches? What else should we talk about? The team? You guys forget big money sports are entertainment enterprises first and foremost, otherwise they will fail to exist. These are not supposed to be charities, or a place for us to celebrate the disabled and unfortunate. College football is an outlet for extreme competition. UNL is an alma mater, home school, Lincoln is a home city for many fans...the team is embarrassing...I would love to be wrong, as I have said for the last four years...I just have been continually right, except for weak moments of optimism.

True. I've mentioned this before in other posts, but he's not a winner. His record clearly shows this, especially his record vs ranked teams. I'm not sure you'll find many power 5 coaches with a worse record that Matt's 2-25 (.074) career record vs ranked teams. Seriously, from what I can find, Maryland's HC is the only one who has a worse record (2-30). That's it. Of all the power 5 schools, we have the 2nd worst one (though really, is it that much of a difference?).

That's both sobering and frustrating. Maybe it's a good thing that Trev moved on, if this is the best he could do.
I think the worst about Rhule...beyond his scamming and incompetence, is that even at his best, his strategy for winning at Temple and Baylor would not work in the game today. It really isn't his fault...he had a very clear pattern and strategy at his two "successful" stops. Crash-out the roster, rely heavily on young players, build experience, cohesiveness with a staff of coaches that he trusted, and then turn it around as the freshman turned into upper classman. He never had a chance here because any young player who built up a resume would be a danger of transferring, and he had no desire or experience in bringing in veteran players and building culture overnight, especially with full grown men who are likely to see through ********. Keeping "loyal" coaches was also a risk because he didn't have a full roster of buddies, he had to rely on kids of buddies, had to bring in some "outsiders" like Tony who stood up to him...and our three best coaches have long since left.

So lets talk football. Why do you think we will beat Illinois or Washington to make this a worthwhile season? Illinois isn't bringing back much but Bielema will run the ball down our throats and it is a road game. Washington was dramatically better than us last year...won 9 games and they return a ton of talent and have a better coach. It is a home game so I wouldn't call it a toss up but we have maybe a 40% chance to win. That means we have to be perfect to beat the bad teams...Ohio, Michigan State, Rutgers, Maryland...and we have to pretty much have an upset to get to 7 wins. If we have any slip ups...especially that Michigan State road game, or Rutgers late in the season...this is going to be a five win season. Thoughts?

We are soft as f*ck in his image

“…last year we failed as a staff, the wrong voice, the wrong things were being said. And that falls on me and we didn’t have that grit and toughness at the end of the year and when things got out of hand, it’s like you’re kinda looking around for help. That is 100% on me. And so me, all I’ve said to this team is…

I want G-B-R

I want Grit, I want Brotherhood, I want Relentless execution. I want a guys who are gritty and tough. Everyone says they love the team and Nebraska, but all I’ve seen is when things get hard, people just back off. Who leans into it like Luke Reimer did, like MJ Sherman did, like Ty…”

Wait a minute folks, I was lambasted all summer for being negative, and all of the sudden it’s cool!

5 wins is all we are gonna get. I happen to believe there are talented enough players for 8-9 wins.......Rhule will account for 3-4 of these wins to be loses due to poor preparation, poor in game adjustments, poor game plan, and lack of leadership allowing the wrong voices saying the wrong message in the locker room.

How do you know Illinois “will run the ball down our throats”? Everything you project is based on previous years, not the current team. The **** you spew proves you have no real knowledge of what the current team is. Maybe wait a few games before coming in so hard. Ride your bike around campus and go to that local DSA meeting we all know you’ll be championing.

Fair question. Of course in an portal era these things are less known. We do know that Bielema always prefers a power run game, even if he runs out of the shotgun and RPO. We were 119th in the nation last year against the run in terms of ypc. We brought in a new DC and DLine coach from a lower conference and a poorly rated dline class from the portal. We are switching systems, which may/may not cause problems for returning dlineman who are used to a different system, different leverage, technique. Bret is 5-2 against us, Their starting running back is on the Doak walker watch list. It is a Friday night game, at Illinois.

Do you have any reason to think we will win?

What game? It is August 29th. Don't you get the point of a message board? It is to waste time spouting ****. Or I guess it could be to criticize people who hurt your feelings or make your tummy feel funny.
yet you are trying to come up with doomsday scenarios so you can be right about the season being a failure or something. Very odd.

It's like going to movie and just spouting random ideas about how the movie will end before you are even seated. Worrying about box office reception, revenue income and other random crap. Just enjoy the movie.

That is true...I don't think Illinois will be much better. But our defense was really good in 2023. If we had the 2023 defense I would be ALOT more excited about this season. The wheels really came off for this team when the DLine aged out...just cannot win in the this conference with a mediocre dline...and ours was one of the worst in the sport last year.

If we are all expected to post sunshine pumping statements and do the old wait and see how the season plays out before we question or criticize, I’m not sure why it is that i can google husker message boards and about 7 different sites show up. Yes, we may be new and improved this year, but the chances are infinitely higher that it’s the same old song and dance, same **** different day. That doesn’t mean that some of us are unexcited for the season, nor are we actively hoping for the worst, we just see the same patterns and trends that have gone unchanged for years and are realists in saying that a year 4 reset(call it what it is), is not a good sign. I’ll be the first to say congrats and shout hip hip hooray if the new DC and OL coach are major upgrades, but I’m also allowed to continually question why it took four years to find competent coaches. Here’s to hoping and wishing in one hand and shittin in the other. Go Big Red!!

So why do you think we are going to improve on being 119th in the nation against the run. Do we have better players?
You tell me. You clearly don’t know who’s on the team right now. You don’t know what defense is being run and who coaches it. You base all of your tirades on what happened last year.

Let's say Nebraska wins the national championship. What does that really get us? Childish bragging rights with inbred Iowa fans? Investing your happiness in college kids is kinda stupid.
Let's say matt Kenneth Rhule wins his 3rd gme out of 26 against ranked opponents this year?...What does that really get us? A crappy cuck coach. A NC is not out of the question. In fact, I promise you Matt will take us all the way this year.

Don't disagree with your points. They're valid.

Bielema is 3-1 against Nebraska at Illinois. We won in 2023.

I base this on a .500 coach and a used car salesman fraud. The last time this unkept clown beat a ranked team was at Temple and Obama was the President. This team could have 7 all-americans and the greatest D coach in history and it wouldn't matter. A cuck is a cuck.

Well, whose fault was that? Dylan is certainly responsible, but what about the Husker head coach and his offensive assistants who allowed him to play that way? It goes back to there is no toughness coming from the team's leader, Rhule. Watch Rhule on the sidelines in crucial situations, when things are going south for his team, he's an emotional mess. Have we ever seen an example of him inspiring the team and helping them overcoming a bad situation? No! because he becomes anxious and uncertain. He has no poise in difficult situations.
This. He’s like Tommy Boy … Jo Jo the idiot circus boy with his pretty new pet.

How do we know Illinois will run the ball down our throats? Maybe because we have an undersized, bottom of the Big Ten D line and that’s what Bielema does 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s not hard to figure out lol

So bring something positive, and not just ignorant platitudes. Why do you think we will win 8 games next year and make it a successful season? I honestly can't come up with any reason that we will see a jump or improvement from last year, and lots of reason to think there might be a collapse. So why don't you argue something to the contrary. I actually get quite optimistic.

Even to this day I thought the 2024 team had a chance at the playoffs if Satt wasn't OC and Foley wasn't ST coordinator, and Mcquire wasn't WR coach. Dylan was playing really well for a true freshman, the defense was very good...but the offensive coaching was terrible and special teams were some of the worst in the country. "We were close" but coaches decisions to hire friends and continue to bring them back wasted that one opportunity. Rhule showed that his priority wasn't winning time and time again, and we just have to live with him piecing together leftovers while he waits to go sit on a Florida beach.
