Regarding ESPN/WWE... If we operate under the scenario it's true, what do you expect Disney/ESPN to do? Come out and say "we signed a bad deal, but we can't get out of it now so we're not going to renew it when it expires?" They'll either not say anything or issue an official statement to deny it.

If we operate under the scenario it's false, what do you expect Disney/ESPN to do? They'll either go on official record to say it's false or they'll ignore it.

They are a publicly traded company, the contract is worth $325 million a year, even if it were true, they'd never voluntarily and officially admit during it that they screwed it up because that would hurt their stock price. And no executive would ever do that either unless they wanted to be fired.

How many years is it going to take for you to learn what an interview is?
There’s 2 ways to answer an interview question the right way and the wrong way - promoting all in by rambling about wwe is certainly a choice…
When Roman was on espn before wm he talked about punk not a different company…
Maybe will should have focused on omega and London (promoting the event which is what media is about)

The espn package is a disaster anyways - wwe is just part of the loss in play for it. And no one is paying for it in the summer when it’s no sports it’s essentially for cbb and cfb out of market

Do you not understand what questions are?

If the interviewer asks you a question you stay on topic, not say whatever the hell you want. That's a good way to not get brought back on these shows.

That would be like me asking you in this thread "Who is your favorite AEW wrestler" then you explaining why Dragon Bane from NOAH is your favorite wrestler.

Don’t understand why WWE fans are so bent out of shape when AEW mentions them…WWE is so insanely large and untouched by AEW. Ratings? WWE by a wide margin. Attendance? WWE by a wide margin. Popularity/mass appeal? WWE by a wide margin. WWE only fans are under no threat — AEW is a much smaller company and smaller companies have historically punched up. Do I prefer AEW to mention WWE? No, I don’t. I barely know what is even happening in WWE so I’m not impressed by that. Am I bothered or care? No. I don’t see why it matters. If both companies were REAL competitors, I think that stuff would matter. In 2026, for most people, wresting is WWE and AEW is that thing they heard about that time. I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon.

I’m not saying there may not be one-offs. Also, it’s an apples to oranges comparison to start with. All In is AEW’s largest show by far. SummerSlam is WWE’s second biggest show, and as big as it is, it is dwarfed by WrestleMania. I bet if we weren’t having this discussion right now and you were randomly thinking about attendance, you’d probably be pretty confident WWE is much more successful in that regard by a wide margin.

When you really think about though, is it even possible to lie about a hypothetical situation like this? For something to be a lie, it has to be able to be proven that he wouldn't.

It's the Schrodinger's Cat of wrestling decisions. The claim exists in a state of being both true and false because the match hasn't happened, and we can't know rather it's true or false until the match is officially approved or not approved. Since Cena is retired (assuming it's a real retirement and not a "wrestling" retirement), we'll never know if he is telling the truth or not because the event to determine if it's true or false - the match - can't happen.

8 matches refers to the main card. Just like the last two times at Wembley, the stadium is in a neighborhood with a noise curfew, so they have to be done by 10 pm or there will be hefty fines. I can't remember what the fine is, but I remember when I saw it that no one in their right mind would risk the chance of violating it because they'd rapidly kill whatever profit they make off the event.

Willow Nightingale suffering an untimely hand injury is disappointing because it feels like the match is now going to be built around Mercedes Moné taking advantage of her injury, rather than outwrestling her rival and earning the defining victory of her career. This moment in Wembley, winning the AEW Women's World Championship, is supposed to be Mone's defining moment. She hasn't won the big one yet; she's lost to Willow multiple times in recent years, and this is the moment AEW has been building towards for a while. Now Willow is walking in not at 100%, and the writing is on the wall for what happens next. It's a shame because the match can still end up really good, but it will never be as great as it could have been. Regardless, I cannot wait to see Mercedes hold that championship high above her head and all of the IWC haters cry.

Maybe it should have been Thekla…the women’s division in both companies are cursed…Also how is Megan bayne not in the mix she’s massively powerful and booked strong.

LOL, I don't know who you copied and pasted the part about Mercedes from, but I know that isn't you, LaParka!

But I do agree about Megan Bayne. She looks like a million bucks, is strong as hell, and generally is pretty good in the ring. I'd push her into a singles belt sooner than later.

Ya the tag division is kind of an afterthought tbh I mean I think Megan was booked well in stardom too and I think she’s got a great look…you’re right I copied off fb bc the first 2/3 sounded good then now knowing it’s a legit hand injury ugh

I swear I don't know why any woman would want to go into the wrestling business. It's bad enough on guys, but it seems it just wreck them physically.

My hope is that when they lose to the Birds on Sunday that the tag team breaks up. Bayne and Kross are both world title level talents, and I actually think Kross has more potential because she's the far better talker of the two.

And yes I realize the tag division needs tag teams, but there's plenty of other people that can be put there. Just need them to be a real tag team - real team name (not just names/nicknames/catch phrases combined together), team music, matching gear, etc. - instead of just two singles talents put randomly and lazily together and look it's a tag team named Brodido.

ANd I love Brodido, but that's a tag team naming convention I will detest until I'm dead. It's lazy, uninspired, uncreative, etc.

Fightful raised their subscription prices when they brought on these people lol this is something I said AEW would be interested in long before his contract ever expired.

Unless he’s been sandbagging or mailing it in on the indies, he’s just nowhere remotely close to being ring ready for the main roster

I mean you don’t need a paywall tk basically said he’s coming
Stuff like that report is a prime example of why I canceled my Fightful subscription last year.

Bringing in WrestleVotes and the owner saying they needed to raise prices to pay for them and then trying to backtrack that statement because a lot of people - including me - weren’t interested in WrestleVotes was the final straw for me. WrestleVotes is glorified WWE PR, I’m not paying for that junk.
