Actually by chance saw a research analyst (he may also be running money) online just mention the nuclear sector (small reactor segment) and how he will re-look in 2 or 3 years. I don’t know of any out there that are super-cheap despite low current revenues.
Just keep in mind OKLO was as high as $175. These nuclear stocks run hot and then have a tendency to crater once reality sets in. But I’m not recommending that you sell.

I sold completely out of two very small positions up a total of $500 after a short one month or so holding period. Don’t really know a lot about the small modular nuclear segment other than it consistently gets almost unanimous bipartisan hype. Seems to be a very “moat”y industry but I’m not really sure what nuclear science grad students are doing in their basements either.

Is this truly a turn for the worse in the Iran war or is Trump creating another buying opportunity for himself, his family and his buddies?

It’s not a turn for the worse. It’s more people realizing all the talk about close to a deal is all BS. Higher oil prices and higher interest rates will be a constant for the 12 months.

I don't think higher interest rates are going to substantially slow down AI infrastructure spending

I do have TEM up 20% on the news. LABU up a bunch too.

PFE, which I don't own, looks pretty of late.

@T2Kplus20, any insight on Revolution Medicine (RVMD)? They just completed late stage clinical trial for late stage pancreatic cancer with a 60% increase in survival time. Trials are ongoing for small cell cancers and late stage lung cancer. They don't have the production capacity to produce the medication in a large scale, making them an ideal takeover candidate.

I'm ready! Gold and silver to the moon.
Good thing I sold GDX and B last week when it looked like Gold was running out of steam.

also sold FWDI, COIN, HOOD once clarity act stalled out and stocks started declining…now this treasury dept move comes out of nowhere

Been a really frustrating month…about the only thing I’ve done right this month is started buying Biotech

Buyout rumors since the beginning of the year. From Abbvie to Merck and others. I know a bunch of people who work there and it’s a good company. in January I was going to buy at about $80. Once the buyout rumors started the stock shot up. It’s over $200 now. I missed the profits.

Great company, possibly revolutionary tech (pun intended) but the prelim data was released and the stock already exploded. $46B market cap is pretty steep. A typical price to sales for smaller pharma/biotech is around 6'ish.....so that assumes a future sales of $8B or so.

You can definitely make money on the stock and RVMD can become the next Vertex ($140B market cap), but investors should be prepared for some consolidation. Not saying a big price decline, but rather an extended period of flatlining as sales catch up.

As mentioned by RU206 - possible buyout candidate for a large pharma.

T2K - you have any biotech recommendations?

FWIW, currently holding CRISPR, Protagonist, Zura, Apnimed, ARS, Aquestive. Bought most of them 4-6 weeks ago

I really like Apnimed and bought the recent IPO. I also own plenty of Compass Pathways, Carlsmed (emerging medical tech), and Prime Medicine. These are my longest holds for now, but I have plenty more on my watchlist.

STDN, after a dip, up big today.
Thank Trump - nuclear stocks heated up since the CNBC interview of the DJT CEO where it was revealed (or reminded people) that his company DJT holds significant digital assets (on balance sheet + partnership with crypto.com) and nuclear (via the TAE technologies merger). I gotta say - i think there is a good chance the back half of Trump’s presidency goes to hell. Can’t imagine mid-term elections showing much underlying support for Trump given inflation, gov’t spending, Iran mess, Canada/Tariff fight, BTC shenanigans, Treasury nonsense F’in with the yield curve, etc. I would have argued BTC was basically on life support based on nonexistent whale activity, miners shifting to data centers, lower and lower price support…that is of course until the Trump pump. No other major world power gives a flying F about BTC yet he says we need to be the BTC leader. No legit country is even buying the garbage. In fact, China is buying gold (and silver), and has been, at a pace not seen in years - buying every dip and hoarding it - even building network of massive gold vaults. While they are buying massive amounts of gold they are also liquidating treasuries. Honestly, I feel like a total idiot for missing much of the gold move when was the worst kept secret over the last 3 months

The bond market intervention and etf buying have done more than anything Trump said in this current rally. You’ve argued Bitcoin has been on life support more than a few times and it always comes back. Remind me of this guy…

Forget my personal view, is it not true that the US is the only world power that gives a F about BTC (hmmm, wonder why)? All the other powers are loading up on gold and precious metals. The BTC holdings of other countries are all from confiscation. Corporations sniffed out BTC a long time ago when Saylor was pushing the whole balance sheet nonsense. Whale activity fell off a cliff. ETF inflows were soft and trending lower until last week.

BTC hanging around $65K was reminding me of when it was hanging around $13K during the Bankman Fried(or whatever his name was) blowup.

Looks like it has a head and shoulders formation it has to refute, but if it does I'd say it then looks like a strong 5 year chart.

I still have a bit of crypto on coin base but haven't signed in in forever.

WTI chart does look to be in a wedge. IE, a down ward trend converging towards an upward trend.

Which only implies it will break one way or another. lol.

CBRS back at an important support level.

I bought the last time it was here, looked great on the bounce, added, and now im in the red overall.

One of those very expensive, non profitable companies with monster growth expected.

On next years expected rev's it's pretty reasonable(13x ish). On 2028's expected the stock price could double and still be fairly cheap(10x).

Got a bunch of buy alerts this week:
Uranium = DNN and CCJ
Retail = IMAX
Energy = COP
Crypto = HOOD and COIN breaking out

I've been sitting on BNS calls since May. Yesterday was the big payoff! :)

The US holds a lot of bitcoin from seizures. Is it not in its interest for that to be valuable? Should we have followed Germany and sold it all at its lows? Whale activity and etf inflows being soft in a bear market aren’t exactly groundbreaking ideas. Same thing, every four years and every time it recovers you’re surprised. Fool me once…

Just so we are on the same page - there are two catalysts that came out of left field. The first is Bessent’s moronic idea to intervene in the bond market - which hasn’t and likely won’t work anyway. The second is Trump realizing the Clarity Act was basically left for dead (or on the shelf for a while) invites the crypto crew to DC followed by a Truth Social post that annihilated $3B in shorts and got everyone’s hopes up. Am I missing something else here? Two ridiculous manufactured catalysts. Because by the way gold and other precious metals were motoring for months at a pace not seen since the 80s (I think) without the Trump pump. And yes I’ll fully admit I’m pissed because I built positions in COIN, HOOD, FWDI, thinking Clarity Act may pass and then bailed during the free fall when politicians said it wasn’t a priority. Looked like a genius move on my part until Bessent-Trump started playing games so now I’m trying not to do the math because it was serious money that slipped through my fingers.

I’d say that overall you’re chasing these moves too much. The clarity act has become a political game, maybe rightfully so, but not worth the time imo. It was clear it wasn't passing pre-recess, that didn’t have much of an impact.

My point is crypto has been left for dead a hundred times, assign whatever reason you want to it. It recovers and a new set of variables are applied. Step back, it’s the same pattern over and over.

I hear you as far as chasing some of these themes, although it’s just a relatively small portion of my trading account. I have large core positions I rarely touch. I know crypto has been left for dead many times, but my point is these were entirely manufactured catalysts within something like 24 hours of each other - where as in the past these crazy moves higher were driven by real events such as El Salvador adopting crypto, Tesla adding it to the balance sheet, spot ETF, etc. Trump’s post + Bessent’s bonehead move = huge rally

Those two things helped, but there’s other factors. Here’s the meme that everyone has been using for months. The 4 year cycle low was predicted for October. Everyone planned to buy then, so this is simply people front running that along with a catalyst.
1787766202891.jpeg

Also, there’s always runners out ahead of Bitcoin and they were walking up before these announcements. Solana activity woke up in May and is back at ATH. And the darling of the cycle Hyperliquid woke up in April and is also at ATH.

You got me excited as I own some SOL. I checked the chart. Still looks like ***.

Maybe showing some signs of life, but still much closer to 52 weeks lows then 52 week highs.

$100 does look like a hurdle.
