What a weird game, but ESL made the plays that needed to be made when they needed to be made.

Have to hope MJC is okay.
The questions for MC were the correct questions.
Long season ahead...

Really? They probably won't lose another game.

Team from New Jersey next week will be a handful for them, if Loyola is back that's not a gimme, and BR will always be tough for them

Left in second. Looks to be a shoulder injury. Came back out in the second half in street clothes. Was in a lot of pain.
Also word on the street is ESL starting center and both starting guards are ineligible. Transfer issues..Back ups started.
Ain't you all sunshine and roses!

Hats off to Eastside. We got smacked around. Sometimes a good butt kicking is what you need. Lot to clean up. Really disappointed in how they played, rather they would have lost 50-0. Anxious to see how they respond.
Lot of talk about the mc qb leading up to today. I thought he looked good. Def dont see the qb as someone who will prevent you from winning state.

Any Redbird gear being worn in the crowd?

This was the game at ISU,, right?

I remember passing up going home for Thanksgiving weekends and staying at school with many others in my dorm just to attend the state finals played at ISU in November.

At that time Bishop Mac had a good run going.

Between Brother Rice and Mt. Carmel do we have the CCL with 20 plus penalties this weekend? Does talent equate to discipline and intelligence or not? Just a question. I don’t remember Loyola self destructing like these two games have shown.

No massive realignment is required by either MC or Rice. Both teams are almost playoff ready.

Must have not wanted to listen to EEEES-IIIIIII

That was a cheap shot. For someone who's teams underperform in the state championship games, I thought you might be a bit more gracious.
But, you won fair and squaare. Good luck gooing forward.

Please excuse typos. Eye problems.

They were just leaving to get prime parking at Wally’s to get the snacks needed for the ride back through construction. Understand the rush.

Some thoughts I had on the game:
East side might have the kicker, but lack the tools around him to really be successful with the kicking game. Although I will not be surprised to see better snapping, holding and blocking in the future.
I was surprised by some of Lynch’s decisions. An end around pass in the first quarter when your offense was initially struggling and the multitude of Madden video game calls launching the ball down field makes me feel like he was throwing crap at the wall to see what stuck.
MJC is a stud as we all knew that but even more scary is how Gohmiller put a surge in the ESL offense that the MC defense had a tough time answering for. Could this be one of the best ESL offensive units they’ve had?

We did back in 1983, one of the most hyped Loyola teams and we didn't get it done. We were ranked #1 by Tribune and SunTimes and 16th in the nation by USA Today preseason. We had the talent - guys who went to Stanford, Ohio State and Brigham Young to name a few. Our class won CCL 1980 and 1981, 6-3 our junior year. We were hit with some injuries and a few other things, but we just didn't get it done and ended up 3-6. Definitely something you don't get over.

I was asking myself the same question. I knew MJC and Gomiller were studs and wasn’t surprised by what they did. I was surprised and impressed by ESL’s Oline and QB, though. I thought the Oline more than held their own against MC’s front seven, which I thought would not be the case. And I knew the QB was a returning starter, but didn’t know how good he was. Very athletic and very good, accurate passer who made good decisions. Considering how good the offense looked in Week 1 against that caliber of defense, this looked like it might be one of ESL’s better offenses.
