Seton Hall had the right person in the school and failed to promote her? Why? Cause she was a woman? She was by far the best candidate.
I wanted her to get that job. She was a great candidate and had served really well as interim president. We definitely should have gone with her. But your retort doesn't really address anything I stated in my post, which you responded to.

We could have done considerably better.
I have no clue based on his abilities. And now that he is here, I prefer to hope the positive reports I have heard are true.

But not stearing clear of such a disgrace as the mccarran episode is eye raising at the very least.

Catholicman is so correct about priests today. Sadly, tragically, the institution priests love and work for is the reason why priests have lost their stature in society.

Those in charge would greatly disagree with you. The school feels they made the very best choice and the results to date have proven that true in their eyes.

The freshmen class is the best ever academically and our fundraising, a major issue in the past is finally starting to improve with the monsignor traveling the country to that effect.

Total nonsense. The case will eventually be dismissed. This will follow all the recent lawsuits against the school that went nowhere.

Powell
Marino making sexual advances toward Nyre's wife
Nyre against the school
Now this

They all make noise when filed and then when dismissed they fade into the obscurity.

And BTW, Reilly took imm action against the guy who grabbed the butt of the person filing the lawsuit by kicking him off campus.

By what metric is this the best academic freshman class ever?

I disagree with the hiring of Riley but the archdiocese wanted a priest. End of story.

As much as we want to move beyond this, there are obviously those who do not and still feel they have bullets in the chamber and they’re not going to stop until they get what they want.

All of this leads back to the power struggle between Nyre and Marino. Nyre didn't like Marino and the Board's limiting his power and he has a serious vendetta against Seton Hall. He's been airing all of the school's dirty laundry.

Except that the story --the seminary part of it--refuses to go away.
I meant end of the story of why Passerini wasn’t hired and went to Gonzaga. The Arch diocese wanted a priest. As far as Riley goes the story may never end.
