There’s so little extra beef available to import that any imported will be a drop in the bucket. Short term it might pressure packers a little but the cure for high prices is high prices. Why pay 5$ a pound for hamburger when you can buy boneless pork loin for 2$/pound. Theres a bunch of different ways you can prepare but one key is don’t overcook it. I’ll slice 7-8 1” thick chops and fry them to about 150. They’re great cold for lunch on a bun with barbecue sauce or plain butter and salt.

I've dun a lot of travel in the last few weeks in this great state and the corn looks awesome. Beans to. Farmers gotta love their crops this year. Such a great sight to see miles of farmland kickinass and feeding us. Kinda switched to mostly pork lately though. Hope beef comes back down, I do like me some cow!!!

Same here and if I can find good chicken which is hard to at times, I still buy steaks occasionally and hamburger but no more brisket Or prime rib the price is crazy expensive but that’s how the market works if people slow down buying beef The price eventually drops

Crops are completely dependent on where you are. The area around Verdigree had a terrible drought. Looks green maybe but yields will be way down.

You can substitute ground pork for hamburger in a ton of recipes. Pork “taverns”, chili, spaghetti sauce, etc. I’m a beef producer but have pork interests too. It all supports ag.

Well most corn is either for ethanol or livestock feed, so not really feeding us, but yeah. eastern nebraska has been blessed with a lot of rain. Western Nebraska is dry AF. Almost all cattle that way. My parents are ranchers.

I don’t recall that. I think there was a case of adulterated meat in Europe at one time but they eat Trigger over there anyway. Not as bad as the serial killer on our east coast that was using the meat from his victims in his food truck sandwiches.
