He’s going to import beef and have it sold at 25% under market prices. When Mamdani does that, it’s called communism.

The beef cattle herd was at an all time low for July.

“Trump is fixing everything” lol
Think back in this year .

The board explained to you about cattle pricing !

Please don't start it up again.

Ask your local rancher or butcher how importing beef at a discount will impact their business.

Ask yourself how importing more beef is going to lower the amount of food we are importing.

City govt undercutting local business by 30% - communism

Federal govt undercutting local business by 25% - America first!

Common sense is dead.
See above post.

Sounds familiar.

You guys are the morons that posted about beef prices, and blamed Biden.

I told you guys it was the drought, and you had no clue.

Who knew MAGA was so out of touch with hard working ranchers and farmers (raises hand)?

Remember when BW said we just need more beavers?

Ranchers are saying Trump betrayed them. Instead of listening and understanding, you mock them. Someone is upset because he celebrated something that most of the public (including ranchers) disagree with.

One of MANY suggestions listed in my many posts about water management !

Have you EVER researched the re-introduction of keystone species, like beaver and buffalo in arid spots in Western USA ?

Take the time rather than golfing on CC's utilizing water to let you hit balls into water hazards.

Agreed on Texas, and agree that Colorado is not great. Imperial Valley does use a ton of water. Have to figure out in some of these areas what is more important, farming or building more housing communities.

Could/should there be more indoor farms for vegetables and fruit? Are there plants less water intensive that can feed our cattle? Should farming communities from California, Colorado, Arizona, etc. be given incentives to move to areas with more water? Or is desalination the only option outside of praying for rain?

If we need to keep the farming structure as is, where does the water come from? Who gets cut off first in times of serious drought? How quickly can we get the desalination plants operational?

I don’t think we want to reduce water for food producers and rely more on foreign food supplies. I would think most conservatives feel the same way. Guess not.

The Department of Interior announced "mandatory" reductions yesterday that are inadequate and window dressing. It is only for 2 years so maybe they are trying to demonstrate that things won't stabilize without real cuts or maybe they are praying for a lot of winter snow.

The states and Mexico are allocated 16.5 million acre feet each year and the river is running at 13 million acre ft or so. California is using slightly less than their share of the 16.5 and magically their mandatory reduction is about that amount. Arizona has been using 500K less than its allocation "voluntarily" (some pain) and now has to reduce by 750K, so a bit more pain, and the Northern Basin basically does nothing.

When 70-80% of the water is used for agriculture it is hard to see that staying immune from cuts. Plus, I miswrote yesterday. Farmers in the Imperial Valley pay $20 per acre ft for Colorado River water not $30. I wish I had those ancestors.

Stable genius

Is this in reference to your horsemeat post ?

President Trump and his family has a large horse farm with stables, 1,500 acres of so in Duchess County NY, near Millbrook NY. 90 or so miles from NYC.

I think it's where the family stashed his brother, Robert who was an alcoholic that recently passed. (Most likely why the President doesn't imbibe !)

Millbrook is a small town, hoity toity, where The Millbrook School is located for mega buck admission fees, but almost guarantees your Son or Daughter admission to an so-called elite college !

If you have an interest for the school on 800 acres with less than 400 students (Day & Boarding) with it's own on campos zoo and where 95 % get accepted by their First or Second College choice ?

Then get ready to write a check for $ 85,000 per year !

Very familiar. Yellowstone River Valley has less than 200k people and gets up to 80” of precipitation each year.

Arizona is not like that. Introducing a bunch of beavers to the desert will not do anything but feed the cougars and coyotes. The Colorado River already has beavers.

Your ideas make sense to you and the other cavemen on the board.

For those of us paying attention, Trump is basically the New York populist version of Joe Biden. Clueless, losing his mind, and enabling the opposition.

Maybe the coming debt issues will force seriousness on our politics. We shall see.

Foreign workers - no!
Foreign students - no!
Foreign beef - oh hell ya!
The funnier part is people that don't like it are generally against tariffs and feel like Trump has not done enough to help affordability for US families.

It is for 90 days leading into the midterms. Any guess as to why Trump did it, duh? I only know two ranchers well and both increased their heard size, but it takes awhile. Neither cares one bit about this temporary pause on tariffs to help cool beef prices.

Herd

I’m guessing you know owners of massive farms. Not the experience of your average rancher.
