Does it bother anyone else that Trump tried to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021 and got away with it?

Obviously the public at large doesn't give a flying fu ck about j6 (given the landslide beat down trump gave to kamala. 100% of swing states and plurality of votes doesn't lie)

Let's review a few things about j6 though:

1. Chris Wray lied to congress and the American people about FBI involvement and we know he had MANY plain clothes agents and provocateurs present to drive the event (see ray epps)

2. Trump said to peacefully protest. He said it in his speech (which was ongoing when federal assets began entering the capitol) and repeated it online. The far leftists at twitter 1.0 deleted his posts then banned him from the platform.

3. The capitil police literally opened the front doors for people to enter the building (they were welcomed in and even shown where to go.

4. The prosecutions for most of the people there were way over the top. People who caused zero damage and in some cases didn't even go to the capitol were given ridiculous sentencing including solitary confinement.

5. Nancy Pelosi turned down trump national guard requests and is on video pointing out that she was personally responsible for what happened.

6. Everything the left said politically at that time was a lie. Russian collusion was totally fabricated (and an actual seditious conspiracy), the fine people hoax was entirely funded and planned by the southern poverty law center, everything related to covid was nonsense (see fauci lied thread), and trump never once told people to storm the capitol. He said to peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard and to listen to law enforcement. Again, social media deleted those comments and banned him from Twitter, fb, etc and then even had Amazon web services deplatform parler so they could try and control the narrative completely. Elon buying twitter ruined all of the far left's fascist plans.

7. It's laughable watching the left rage over pardons when their VP candidate for the last election just pardoned a convicted child rapist to try and help him avoid being deported (because *gasp* he was also an illegal alien). You guys have zerp standards to stand on.

How many covid boosters are you up to now, OP?

In his "defense" you gotta understand that he hasn't done a single squat or push up in years, and sits in a chair all day watching the view and wailing with other far leftists on the internet about Trump being the GOAT. He has low T even by lob standards.
lol I wonder if he/she is in Dpink’s little group chat they have off this board. Yes, you heard that right. A bunch of beta TDS strangers have a group text where they whine and b!tch everything Trump and the “meanies” on this board l(ike me and you )🤣
Can you imagine the T level in that chain ?!

Covid was a scheme on a scale never imagined.
Your tax dollars at work.... whether the virus was intentionally released or not can still be debated (for now, at least) but the covid response was nothing short of an attempt by the democrats to de-rail trump's presidency when the Russian collusion hoax was revealed to be just that, a hoax. They did not care how many Americans died or suffered, the far left only cared about going after Trump. Traitors, all of them.

Yeah, seeing how the Trump-verse have downplayed and revised away what really happened that day has been an eye-opening experience. My own brother has argued it was a bunch of tourists and ladies with strollers... that level of disingenuousness is other-worldly. It's quite a time in one's life when you come to realize so many tens of millions of Americans are either morally bankrupt or completely dumb AF.
But hey, as long as Libs are getting owned it’s ok to hand over America to a grifting, lying, corrupt, fat, orange, abuser felon.

It was a worldwide scheme to take out the one world leader who didn’t take part in their worldwide deep state agenda.

Come on Scrubby. It still blows my mind anyone in their right mind would ever defend what happend at the Capitol on J6.

1. Yes, Wray gave Congress an inaccurate answer about whether the FBI had canvassed field offices for source intelligence before J6. But the IG found no undercover FBI agents at the Capitol, no confidential sources authorized to break the law and zero evidence the FBI directed people to breach the Capitol. Having informants in a political crowd isn't the same as the FBI running the riot. Oh, and there's still no evidence Ray Epps was an FBI asset.

2. Yes, Trump said "peacefully and patriotically." But that was ONE line after weeks of telling people the election was stolen and that same dadgum day telling them to fight and march on the Capitol. Once the insanity was underway, he waited until 4:17 to tell them to go home (likely because someone told him to for CYA).

3. Police "welcomed them in"...come on Scrubby. Be better. Sure, some cops stepped aside or moved barriers in places after lines had already been breached. The majority of rioters got in by smashing windows, forcing doors, fighting police, or entering through breaches created by others. You cannot turn a few clips of overwhelmed officers into "the Capitol was open and everyone had permission." Talk about selective video footage review. Good grief man.

Tell me why you think this:
1787231193977.png

Negates this? Talk about cherry picking.

1787231133720.png1787231159693.png

4. "Most people did nothing" ism't remotely true. Hundreds were charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers...others were charged with forced entry, property destruction and weapons offenses. And it's not as if every J6 defendant was some harmless tourist who merely wandered into the building...there's an entire thread dedicated to the pardoned J6ers who were later arrested for crimes ranging from child sexual abuse to other serious sex offenses. You think they were just good dudes all along?

5. I cannot stand Nancy Pelosi and yes she did acknowledge responsibility for security failures. But there is zilch for evidence she rejected a formal Trump offer of 10k Guard troops. Not to mention she didn't even control DC Guard deployment...that's the President and DoD's realm.

6. "Everything the left said was a lie". I'm not even in the mood for this one. Has nothing to do with this thread. It's just you ranting.

7. See #6.

And Trump winning in 2024 does not prove people "don’t care" about J6. It proves more people have been duped and are being controlled by the mainstream good vs evil narrative than anyone could have ever predicted.

And in all seriousness, Scrubby, you know I try to remain objective on all topics, but the J6 topic isn't really up for debate. As a veteran and former civil servant who's taken two different oaths to the Constitutuion, what I watched unfold in the Senate Chambers that day was historically unfathomable. If you'd take your political blinders off for two seconds, you could see that.

Covid response/Summer of Love/BLM was way worse.
Are you kidding me? We've had riots throughout American history...the 1863 New York Draft Riots, Watts, Newark, Detroit, the 1968 riots, Rodney King/L.A., the 2020 BLM riots, etc. Heck, the 1967 riots alone involved more than 150 cities and resulted in 83 people being killed.

J6 wasn't just some dadgum riot. A violent mob physically breached the US Capitol while Congress was carrying out the constitutionally required certification of the presidential election, forcing Congress to stop the proceedings and evacuate (in fear for their lives). What makes J6 historically extraordinary is the peaceful transfer of presidential power was haulted. That peaceful transition is one of the great things that make America special and not some 3rd world country.

I remember where I was that day...I was driving 15 miles north of D.C. and my cousin texted me that Trump supporters invaded the Capitol. The darkness was palpable.

I watch tons of cable news and every time I see that prick on TV, I am reminded of how he incited a mob to ransack the Capitol and got away with it.

It boggles my mind.

It does bother me that intelligent people actually think that

I hear you, but that is a public building. People should be able to enter the building. Also they were a bunch of dumb azzes. They were not going to accomplish anything.

Sincere question(s) for ya: Have you actually watched a broad sampling of the footage from that day? ...including the stuff from inside the Capitol, the Senate chamber, the tunnels and the police bodycams, or mostly the clips of people peacefully walking around the building afterward?

If Congress was forced to stop the constitutional certification of the election, members were evacuated, the Senate chamber was breached, police were assaulted, and the Capitol remained unsecured for hours, in what sense was the attempt "unsuccessful"?

I'm not ignorant enough to say they were going to magically take over the government (although you can hear one of them actually say it). I'm saying they successfully disrupted the constitutional process they were there to disrupt. Not to mention the violence.

So maybe watch the footage first (or again), then ask yourself...if this had happened in any other country, would we really describe it as "“a bunch of [email protected] who accomplished nothing"?

That's like saying a burglary wasn't a big deal because the alarm system failed. We can point fingers at Capitol Police all day (it was pretty unprecidented event, no?) But don't lose sight of the fact people violently breached the Capitol, assaulted officers, forced Congress to stop the certification, and created genuine fear for the safety of our elected oficials. In a sane world, this would be a unifying event.

Well, for starters they don't work for a violent mob. ...there were Democrats AND Republicans in that chamber. We don't govern through fear or mob rule. We govern through representative government, the rule of law, and the consent of the governed.

You can think every one of those politicians is a bum. That's your right. But tell me how "they need to be afraid of us" lines up with our constitutional republic. If you want them out, vote them out...you don't attack the Capitol.

Holy sh*t - 150 of them were beaten, some to within an inch of their lives and you put the blame on them instead of the pathological liar who inflamed them and brought them there? What part of they were overwhelmed by thousands do you not understand? What a bizarre take.

Yes, it's real. Here's his own bodycam footage of him being beaten and dragged down the steps. wHy dIdN'T hE dO hIs jOb?

While Fanone was defending the lower west terrace tunnel, rioters dragged him into the crowd, stripped him of his gear, and repeatedly shocked him with a Taser at the base of his skull. As members of the mob fumbled for his service weapon, Fanone heard people in the crowd chanting, "Kill him with his own gun!". https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/15/police-officer-capitol-mob-kill-him-with-his-own-gun

This is a terrible take. Good grief, man.

Unless you’re saying they should’ve opened fire the minute the crowd broke through the doors, in which case I agree with you.

That sounds terrible, but how am I victim blaming? What is the Capital Police's job? If this was truly an insurrection I would hope that the Capital Police or someone would do something. This was a bunch of hoodlums.
