How important is the Mississippi State game?

I watched only one game of theirs last year, and it was the bowl. They had a young qb, a very athletic running qb, and the announcers hyped him the entire game long. Right up until he broke his leg late in the game.

Ill have to look him up, but he looked like the type of guy to give DC'S headaches. But he could also not be recovered yet.
He'll be a heisman candidate after the game.

Since the team is expected to win 6 games, and 5 out of 12 games are against preseason Top 20 opponents, every game is important. It can afford to lose to unranked opponents.

the bowl system itself is largely responsible for devaluing bowl games. i'm still mightily opposed to players opting out, but when MOST teams make a bowl, it's no longer special.
As far as I'm concerned, any bowls not affiliated with the CFP could be eliminated. Let's make competitiveness vital to relevance.

I don't think M. ST will be a problem. - In fact, I went down the schedule list.

In my heart, I honestly didn't pencil in an "L" until the A&M game. 10-1 up to that point, and then we beat Clemmons to secure a spot in the playoffs.

That was my gut reaction going down the schedule list. - Then I realized the absurdity of it, and laughed at myself.

Admittedly I don't know much about MSU football, aside they hired a new DC. Coming in for a 2nd stint as the MSU DC. From what I read, he's considered to be a pretty decent hire.

I sure hope David Pollock is right. He seems to think we will be knocking on the playoff door.

I always respected Pollock when he played at UGA.

It would be nice, but the talking heads always pump up the "also rans" in the offseason. The networks and podcasts need numbers of viewers/listeners and there are a lot more fan bases that want to get into the playoff than ones that have been in it.

He was a beast at UGA. It was sad how his career was cut short in the NFL by injury and how he was screwed by ESPN.
