T&L... they getting that type of money? You have to be national to get anywhere near that much and well liked. I am not either and I doubt any of us on this board are both, most will be neither as well.We should start a SixPackSpeak podcast. We can just take turns ranting. Might change the world and we can get rich while we do it.
Give me 35MM and I'll hire some support staff with no complaints!I wonder how much support staff exists for some of the 10 or so largest, and how much expenses eat into the displayed earnings.

You don't know what I have planned for the Horshack podcast. First interview: Mr Kotter.***T&L... they getting that type of money? You have to be national to get anywhere near that much and well liked. I am not either and I doubt any of us on this board are both, most will be neither as well.
Thats the top ten. What we need to know relative to whether or not it's lucrative is the median value.
I want to see the interview with Mrs. Kotter. No, wait, she'd be pushing 80 by now. Never mind. You don't know what I have planned for the Horshack podcast. First interview: Mr Kotter.***

I’ll hire them, but I’ll b!tch about their work ethic and the taxes I’m paying.Give me 35MM and I'll hire some support staff with no complaints!
That's not surprising. I suspect that any market with a near zero $ barrier to entry has a strong median, but if you find one, I'm in!Thats the top ten. What we need to know relative to whether or not it's lucrative is the median value.
The median income from podcasting is effectively $0 per year.
That's because more than half of podcasters don't monetize at all. A 2026 survey found 61% weren't monetizing, while another study of independent podcasters found 85% earned no podcast income.
All podcasters: median ≈ $0
People employed in paid podcast jobs: median ≈ $68,000–$69,000/year in current job-posting data.
Independent creators who actually make money: incomes are generally far lower. One large U.S. podcast-sector study found 75.9% of income-earning podcasters made less than $1,000/year from podcasting.
So the answer to your query is, when we look at the entire field of podcasters, it's not a field you would want to be in if you're interested in the financial aspect.

I wonder how much support staff exists for some of the 10 or so largest, and how much expenses eat into the displayed earnings.

I know someone who works for one of those very podcasts and honestly, it's not a lot. Outside of the hosts, you need a GM, someone to handles guest relations, someone to run the equipment for the podcast, and maybe a couple more people for things like research and marketing.I wonder how much support staff exists for some of the 10 or so largest, and how much expenses eat into the displayed earnings.
