So the REST OF THE WORLD is stupid, but you gun guys are the smart ones? JFC. Refute what I said. Kids were and continue to get MASSACRED. What gets done about it? Nothing. What’s the number one killer of kids if it isn’t guns? Don’t act like it’s not guns. It’s guns.
Smh

Dollars to donuts you’ve never even held a gun. You’re quite the experiment to perfect stereotyping.

I quit reading after I read #2. Unreal.
You mentioned an issue you believe is uniquely American. I simply added context by providing an example of something also uniquely American that kills far more people than gun violence.

And you still haven’t answered my question.

Simple, return it to what the Founders said, and not what the Federalist cult wants. "A well regulated militia"... Have all the guns you want, just follow a few rules. Violate those rules, lose your guns. You need to pass a test, get your eyes checked, and drive a car on a probationary period to get your full license. You need insurance to drive. Every few years you have to pay a fee and get your eyes checked again. It's pretty simple.
The 2A wording is ambiguous because of the first clause and how it was written. Why is it that liberals always omit the second clause, though, when arguing for greater gun control? Because that clause has no ambiguity whatsoever.

And, uh, do we not have federal laws in place restricting gun ownership for dangerous felons? So, again, the question still stands: What additional laws need to be put in place to correct the culture problem in your view? If the federal government passed a law today banning all firearms that the SCOTUS eventually rubber stamped, would that end or significantly reduce gun violence? Or, would it exacerbate the problem and lead to more violence and criminal behavior?

It would absolutely reduce gun violence if you took the guns away. But it would just move to knives, cars, and other kinds of violence and disobedience and other deterioration of our culture.

Post 22. That's a start. I get it though, guns before children. No point in trying anything, right? Nothing will change if we start banning assault rifles, right? Why do you guys always go to inner city gun violence as an argument? We're talking about mass shootings with weapons designed to kill a large amount of people. Weapons of war. Always to inner city where there are a lot of black people in poverty. I wonder why people do that.

Well, gun violence continued to go down in Australia. Suicides by guns dropped. I know, we should just keep teaching children how to survive gun violence in schools...something children in other countries don't have to worry about. Clearly our federal gun laws aren't strict enough...the consequences for violating them certainly are not.

There have been 20 incidents of gun violence in schools in the US.

For comparison’s sake, there are fewer than 10 known transgender athletes competing in sports.

Discuss.
I’d figure by now there would be many more than that in schools. Look how many kids are getting caught with guns to committee a crime every day in the news.

Only in America do we have to worry about how to defend our students against school shooters. After Sandy Hook it was chosen that guns were more important than the lives of children. One kid dies from a lawn dart - banned!! The number one killer of children in America? None of y’all want to do sh.it about that. Guns are more important than the right to live. It’s really that simple until changes are made. Another thing, again, that the rest of the civilized world does better than we do.
No kidding, bring back the real lawn darts.

We can't stop it! PedMaller already told us trans people are 16x more likely to kill, so obviously we need to identify the trans people responsible for those 253 Chicago homicides and deal with that group first. Can you pull the data and tell us how many of the 253 were trans? You know... for the sake of the data-driven approach. 😏
You joke but I wouldn’t doubt that a large percentage of those killers had sex with someone of the same sex. I know that’s not the same as being trans but it is part of the rainbow. I feel like a certain group of people will fug anything that walks, I also feel like that same group is responsible the 253 homicides.

I’m sorry you struggle with reality.
Reality? How does saying something completely unsupported suddenly become reality? :ROFLMAO:

You're honesly making the assumption a YUGE percentage of homicide offenders are gay/bi simply because they had sex with someone of the same sex??? Care to provide some data?

Let me help you out, according to several federal databases sexual minorities are more likely to be victims of violent crime, not the ones disproportionately committing it. BJS, for one, found violent-victimization rates of 43.5 per 1k for lesbian/gay people versus 19.0 for the straight folk and 51.5 per 1k for transgenders versus 20.5 for cisgender people. And unless you can show otherwise, Chicago's homicide database don't even collect the information you're claiming exists. So no, Gibbs. That's not "reality."

I don’t understand what you are trying to say to me. I don’t recall ever mentioning inner city gang violence; I have only spoken in general terms about gun violence in this thread. So, your response makes no sense.

Nor does your “guns before children” sideways remark. WTF is that?

I am still waiting for you to propose your solutions to the problem. You have tacitly mentioned wanting a greater ban on guns. I am asking you to promote that position with evidence, facts, and reason, and without unnecessary emotional appeals and virtue signaling. I understand perfectly well how much gun violence destroys lives, families, and communities. It’s disheartening. So prove to us why your solution would be the most effective remedy to the problem. Go.

Okay, Tom, so here goes:

1. America has a culture problem and a too lenient judicial system problem. That’s the first issue.

2. You know what else is unique about America compared to most of the world? Obesity. And lots of it. Banning deep fat fryers should solve the problem, right? View attachment 1396620
So, let’s talk about getting rid of Hostess products and Popeyes first then we’ll get to violating the second amendment.

3. Again, what is your solution for getting rid of guns? I hear all the time the Liberal Idiot Brigade cry, “Guns, guns, guns!” like they are Jan Brady, but I never hear a practical approach for how to violate the second amendment or a solid explanation for how making most/all guns illegal will put so much as a dent in the problem.

So, tell us, Tom. Convince us how completely axing the second amendment is going to stop gang violence and public mass shootings. I’m all ears (or eyes in this case).
This is lazy. You're usually better than this.

1. We have more people in prison than any other 1st world country. We don't have a leniency problem, but we do have a broken prison system problem.
2. Obesity only kills the people who choose to ignore it, not innocent school kids.
3. We need to ban all semi-auto. Buy them back, whatever, we need to get them off the street.
4. Again, not an honest attempt at conversation. Of course removing the majority of the guns wouldn't completely stop gang violence or mass shootings, but it would sure as shi.t cut down on them.

Yeah, I can see the headlines now:

“Citizen Outrage Over Another Mass Stabbing Has Many Calling For a Return to Guns to Reduce Widespread Kniving”

“President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley of Ford Motor Company just released an official statement stating the Shady Acres Nursing Home Attack by F-150 could have been prevented had there been a good guy armed with a truck present”

You have to be the biggest, uneducated fool on the board. In 2025, the UK, not nearly the size of America, reported 75,000 rapes. Yeah, Tom, no one cares.

Now, let's talk about the thousands raped by Muslims in the UK. Here's to you Tom. F off you loser.

The party of life and personal responsibility is complicated.
Explain how so? It's not remotely complicated. Individual freedom, other than God and family. Is this too complex for you?

Cucks like you don't believe in individual freedoms, you're a Socialist who believes in the collective. You can play games with others, but you're a Socialist. It has worked so well.

1. That speaks to a larger cultural problem as well as a systemic one. Prison reform will never happen because it’s too lucrative of a business. On top of that, you have violent criminals in a revolving door pattern with the prison system. And, of course, people leave prison in far worse shape than how they first came in.

2. That wasn’t the point.

3. Good luck.

4. The same line of thinking was celebrated when Roe v Wade was overturned. And yet abortion numbers increased after that SCOTUS decision.

The real lazy part is thinking banning a bunch of guns is going to put a major dent in the problem. If we need to revisit current gun laws to make them stricter, or commit to greater fidelity of enforcing current laws, I am on board with those discussions. But the problem is much bigger than gun supply. And, frankly, where the heart of the matter lies is with demand—an issue that apparently isn’t sexy enough to get any airtime when “ban, ban, ban” is all the rage.

Australia hadn’t had a mass shooting in a decade. When they have one they actually ATTEMPT THINGS. We don’t.

Also, I’m not for a full on gun ban. I am for banning weapons that were created to kill mass quantities of humans. They are unnecessary. There isn’t a NEED for them. Some just WANT them.

Hey, dumb dumb. Australia has double the guns today before the turn in. Keep posting nonsense from the media. Just admit you're a pathetic ignorant fool who never researches anything, and walk the F away. Australians own well over 4 million guns today. What an absolute tool you are. You actually believed you had something. Lmao.

You're so GD ignorant, folks like you actually believed the Australian buybacks changed ****. The government bought back around 750k. Meanwhile, there were still around 3 million guns in the hands of their citizens. Today, it's over 4 million.

Now you're just being defensive.

1. Why not just lay down and die if hard problems can't be addressed? We need prison reform so that we stop creating career criminals instead of reformed law breakers. Putting more people in jail won't fix that.
2. It was mine.
3. Thanks, I can see people like you will fight it whatever the cost to our children is.
4. Sure, aside from the fact that several states have lost nearly all OBGYN care and women are dying of treatable illnesses nothing really of value changed after Row was overturned.

No, the lazy part is thinking that things that work everywhere else in the world can't work here for magical reasons. Criminals and disturbed kids in other countries just don't DEMAND guns like ours do!

You should take your boat to Chichagof Island without a proper rifle. Walk inland, and tell the board how you fare. Oh, yeah, you cannot kill anything, just live off of the island.
