The 2A wording is ambiguous because of the first clause and how it was written. Why is it that liberals always omit the second clause, though, when arguing for greater gun control? Because that clause has no ambiguity whatsoever.

And, uh, do we not have federal laws in place restricting gun ownership for dangerous felons? So, again, the question still stands: What additional laws need to be put in place to correct the culture problem in your view? If the federal government passed a law today banning all firearms that the SCOTUS eventually rubber stamped, would that end or significantly reduce gun violence? Or, would it exacerbate the problem and lead to more violence and criminal behavior?
There is absolutely nothing ambiguous regarding the 2nd Amendment. All of our Founders were very clear regarding it, particularly, James Madison who wrote it. Jefferson was also very clear regarding the issue. He actually knew what was coming, and here we are.

We are not Europe. We are Americans, and we are absolutely, a different people. America was never ever going to force our people to give up their individual right to bear arms. That was never in the cards, and not even in original state constitutions.

Rights come from God or Natural law, not a fking government.

It would absolutely reduce gun violence if you took the guns away. But it would just move to knives, cars, and other kinds of violence and disobedience and other deterioration of our culture.
No it wouldn't. 90% is from inner city gang violence. Are you going in to get the guns? Get real.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. My point was critics of 2A try to muddy the waters because of the first clause of the amendment. However, if there was any doubt whatsoever, it should have been completely removed after the unambiguous wording of the second clause.

This is lazy. You're usually better than this.

1. We have more people in prison than any other 1st world country. We don't have a leniency problem, but we do have a broken prison system problem.
2. Obesity only kills the people who choose to ignore it, not innocent school kids.
3. We need to ban all semi-auto. Buy them back, whatever, we need to get them off the street.
4. Again, not an honest attempt at conversation. Of course removing the majority of the guns wouldn't completely stop gang violence or mass shootings, but it would sure as shi.t cut down on them.
Lmao. Not lazy at all. You're simply clueless. Real facts. The highest gang populations in the world are the U.S. and south of the U.S. They also have the most gun violence and murders. Now, go sit in the corner. Absolutely done with you ignorant fking fools.

Just how dumb are folks like you? It's in our inner cities and south of the border killing people. If you actually fking cared, you'd say something about it. You simply don't have the balls to be honest.

Do me a favor. Go into Guatamala, the Villa Nueva area just outside of Guatemala City. Just walk the streets at night and report back if you make it back. You're fking clueless like the rest of your leftist friends who never go outside your circle. Y'all are the most ignorant fks in the world regarding gun violence. West Garfield Park in Chicago is a fking 4 star resort compared to what's S of the border. And all that sh&t migrates up here. They literally cleaned out the Crips and Bloods in LA.

I don’t understand what you are trying to say to me. I don’t recall ever mentioning inner city gang violence; I have only spoken in general terms about gun violence in this thread. So, your response makes no sense.

Nor does your “guns before children” sideways remark. WTF is that?

I am still waiting for you to propose your solutions to the problem. You have tacitly mentioned wanting a greater ban on guns. I am asking you to promote that position with evidence, facts, and reason, and without unnecessary emotional appeals and virtue signaling. I understand perfectly well how much gun violence destroys lives, families, and communities. It’s disheartening. So prove to us why your solution would be the most effective remedy to the problem. Go.
I'd be ok with doing what Australia did. But we can't even get universal background checks. Recognizing we have a problem and being able to solve it are two different things.

Explain how so? It's not remotely complicated. Individual freedom, other than God and family. Is this too complex for you?

Cucks like you don't believe in individual freedoms, you're a Socialist who believes in the collective. You can play games with others, but you're a Socialist. It has worked so well.
I don't have to. You just did it. Individual freedoms for you and none for people who don't believe in your false God.

You replied to gohawks about them being criminals just like mass shooters. The proof is in no other country’s leading cause of death in children is death by gun. I know gun nuts like to tell us that crime will go up though that’s not the case anywhere else. The NRA and Republicans, AGAIN, are lying. Ban assault weapons. Mass shootings will go down. Stop acting like this is difficult.

You have to be the biggest, uneducated fool on the board. In 2025, the UK, not nearly the size of America, reported 75,000 rapes. Yeah, Tom, no one cares.

Now, let's talk about the thousands raped by Muslims in the UK. Here's to you Tom. F off you loser.
Projection, Trump bootlicker.

No, you moron, freedom is far more important. Meanwhile, you support Marxists and Islamists in your party. Even Jeffries has come out against those you support.

Here's reality. I'd never give up anything to a gutless wonder like you. Fking beta.
Define Marxism. Idiot.

You should take your boat to Chichagof Island without a proper rifle. Walk inland, and tell the board how you fare. Oh, yeah, you cannot kill anything, just live off of the island. I'll grant you a pole to fish with. I'm sure you wont be worried for a moment. I'll be nice, I'll grant you a whistle. They work well in Alaska. Lmao.
Man, so many thoughts here, Mr. Shoe.

- I don't have a boat, although I am a water ski and boating safety instructor.
- I have plenty of rifles, which one would be the correct one.
- I'm not a big fan of fish, BUT I will eat what I must.
- What shall I do with said whistle.
- Haven't lived in AK since 2000.
- BONUS: At what point in your story do I get raped or murdered by a gay or trans person?

I have advocated for years treating public schools like courthouses.

Yeah, I agree the gun show loophole is ridiculous and that we need to do more to ensure fidelity to federal gun laws.

I don’t personally own guns and don’t like guns. Personally. And, frankly, a lot of gun nuts, especially those who dress their families up in ugly Christmas sweaters and force them to pose with AR-15s so dear Aunt Sally can get her annual Yuletide greetings in the mail, bother me more than any transgender woman ever has. I still will error on the side of upholding the Constitution.

My main issue is that founders didn’t foresee assault rifles that kill lots of people. That and nobody in power is actually willing to do anything about school shootings.

Hey, dumb dumb. Australia has double the guns today before the turn in. Keep posting nonsense from the media. Just admit you're a pathetic ignorant fool who never researches anything, and walk the F away. Australians own well over 4 million guns today. What an absolute tool you are. You actually believed you had something. Lmao.

You're so GD ignorant, folks like you actually believed the Australian buybacks changed ****. The government bought back around 750k. Meanwhile, there were still around 3 million guns in the hands of their citizens. Today, it's over 4 million.

Ffs, dude. You have the Internet available, and you still lie and make sh_t up.
Speaking of making s hit up…you’re lying. Guns didn’t double there since 1996. That’s false. 3.2 million to 4 million in 30 years isn’t double. MAGAs can’t do MATH either. You’re dumb AF.

Violent criminal behavior has a wide tent. That’s why I speak in general terms about it. But, yes, I get the point about the intended purpose the MIB has for spotlighting inner city gang violence. Yes, they might as well just come out and say the issue is a “n*gger problem” that has nothing to do with 500 years of systemic racism and oppression. I get it, Tom.

Again, correlation does not necessarily mean causation. You have a whole plethora of reasons and influential factors to sift through before you shift the focus entirely away from demand in order to illuminate just the supply side. If you really want to be fully armed in fighting back against gratuitous gun violence, then you need to be…well…fully armed.

Compare how teen depression and suicide rates compare to other countries. Compare how much violent media and video games teens consume compare to other countries. Compare how many broken homes teens live in compare to other countries. Compare how many children and teens take a buffet of psychotropic medications compare to other countries. Compare the prevalence of teens abusing street drugs compare to other countries. Compare how many teens are obese and live a sedentary lifestyle free of releasing natural endorphins that significantly improve wellness and emotional wellbeing compare to other countries.

Find the root and go from there. Otherwise, let’s just ban all cars and deep fat fryers in addition to guns.

True. But they did foresee Donald Trump and the MAGA Idiot Brigade, which compelled them to create the Electoral College, so they get a little credit for clairvoyance on that (even if the EC failed us in 2016).

That and nobody in power is actually willing to do anything about school shootings.

True. No doubt the founding fathers would be perplexed by our parole system for violent offenders with multiple convictions when a musket and one round bullet would have saved a lot of time and wasted money.

Wow - that is one breath-takingly ignorant take. First, protecting us from Donald Trump et al has not one thing to do with why we got stuck with that piece of crap. Like - zero relevance. Its main mission was to protect slave states - they got EC votes that included their f'n slaves. Without that, they don't ratify the Constitution. It is, quite literally, a relic of a slave-owning nation.

Second, even if that was its intent - it most assuredly was not - it has NEVER protected us from a populist president.

It was facetious. Along with the rest of my post.

My honest position is that the EC is antiquated and anyone who is elected president should have to win the popular vote.

But, again, I was being facetious (but obviously failing 😞).

Still, calm your tits, broski.
