He’s a career 32% shooter from deep. He’s a non-shooter and to me, it feels like we are literally rebuilding the 2026 team to me. Pope is the coach and I hope he’s right. I’m worried and I don’t know how anyone thinking about the offense seriously wouldn’t be.

I think the ideal piece would be Kohler just for this reason, but Mitchell isn't bad at all. I don't think he's comparable to Dioubate at all, he's shot over double the 3s over his career and has a much better form.

That WAS the point. You said better without. If Chandler were on the roster, and Wilkins is better (I hope this is true), Chandler would’ve been the backup. He’d be a better backup than Morton or Williams. How anyone can say a dude that averaged 10 won’t be better than a bit piece on a bad Wazzu or a 4 star true frosh just boggles my mind. Btw, you have zero clue if Wilkins would or wouldn’t have come based on Chandlers decision. Now, if you want to say the team will be better with Wilkins as the starting 2 over Chandler, that’s a debate that can be had. I can see both sides. I need to see Wilkins play against good competition on a nightly basis first. I’m not ready to anoint his as a star based on a one off game vs UConn. He no doubt has some skills, but there are very valid concerns as well…if you’re willing to be objective.

Was talking about former Pope players specifically, which is what was referenced in the post I replied to.

Pope has done well in the portal in 2 of his 3 seasons. Non portal leaves a little to be desired, but honestly if the portal players perform it’s not a big deal.

That's a viable lineup. Full court handles could be a question, but in the halfcourt, Mitchell is a capable ballhandler.

I think this was strictly due to Missouri running their offense thru him. I think it's why Anthony Robinson transferred out. Not that it's a problem, but that's partially why his PPG and APG are so high.

I don't think getting it passed is the issue. Hasn't the NCAA gone on record saying they would not allow teams with this type of player in the tournament? This type being those that the NCAA rules ineligible, but the courts grant injunctions.

Two things that stand out to me is how good Mitchell is in transition and how elite he is at taking his man off the dribble. Can you imagine the fast break being pushed with Diallo, Wilkins, and Mitchell pushing and Milan sagging to the wing for a three?

Good luck defending that, SEC.

It's a shame we filled the roster with some cigar players at the backend. Could have potentially landed Mitchel and Cade Tyson to close out the roster.

Do we know who the “cigar” players at the back end are? Little Hawthorne? Anyone else? Milan WAS the back end and he is the guy who let’s us smoke the victory cigars.

Looking back at last year, Mo D was terrible. Maybe I'm being harsh but I just didn't like anything about his game. Dribbled ugly. Shot ugly. Body language ugly. He had a few games where he put in work and did what he was supposed to do but most of the time he just felt like a negative imo.

Can you possibly stop insulting kids on the team? How many games have you seen Cade Tyson play? You probably never heard of him before he was linked here

Who's insulting them? Did you even watch 1990s basketball? They literally called Steve Masiello the "cigar man" and he wore it like a badge of honor. These "kids" are paid professionals and yet you keep protecting them like they're six year olds trying out for a little league team.
