I really wish AEW would stop going to Vegas, I can’t even remember the last time they’ve gotten a good crowd there. I’m talking in terms of quality, not quantity. Scheduling Vegas after those Detroit and Mexico shows makes it especially bad.

Meh, there are some bad crowds but maybe the show just wasn't great? The entire state of KY isn't into AEW apparently, Cincinnati, Vegas, etc. Nothing can compete with last week but AEW can't just run the same five cities all year, every year lol. Jack Perry wrestled AEW's version of John Cena, Nick Wayne was in the same match as the former champion. They gotta make fans care about those skinny goofs or hide them on Collision.

No, Vegas just sucked. Sucked for Mania two years in a row. Has sucked for AEW for years even for PPVs. Just a trash wrestling city.

I mean I see folks on the socials saying the show wasn't great or just okay. AEW isn't immune to mid shows. At Summerslam when Corbin came out, there was no reaction. That's not the crowd's fault, it's WWE's for bringing back someone no one was clamoring for and immediately tossing that person into a title match. It's neat he's getting another shot but you gotta make fans care. I even saw a few on "the" Reddit blame WWE for the Vegas crowd tonight lol.

It's every show in Vegas. Regardless of what the quality is. These people haven't seemingly given a crap about AEw since the debut show back in 2019. But TK just keeps on going back there for some godforsaken reason. I'm not talking putting them on a permaban list, just needs to just be removed from the calendar for a year or two. With as frequently as they tape Collision alongside Dynamite there's plenty of other places they can go in place of Vegas.

Baron Corbin return was a good idea in theory because he's a good veteran hand and he was probably cheap, but how he's been booked as an older guy is WCW 1999/2000 level stupidity - bring in an "old" guy and have young talent put him over. At least with WCW they were doing it with big stars like Hogan and Nash, Corbin is a career midcarder who had last held a WWE singles title 9 years ago.

Meanwhile, talking about stupid booking, we're just over two weeks out from All In and Thekla is currently looking like she might be left off the card entirely. Unless there are legitimate extenuating circumstances keeping her away, this is booking malpractice.

Isn’t she in Japan with Julia and skye?

Thekla and Skye were there for one match a month ago. Thekla been MIA since dropping the title at Redemption. Skye recently worked a couple ROH tapings. Julia has been part of the 5 Star GP, which is the Stardom version of the Continental Classic.

Gut says she re-signs with WWE but that's just me. I think she'd love to coach in NXT in 2-3 years but I may be wrong. Fans and Mercedes have acted weird over Bayley for years though. The veiled posts by Mone as if she needs her friend with her at all times. The fans obsessing over it and pretending they should be hand-in-hand every week. They're adults, not 10 year old twins living in the same bedroom. Ripley is married to a guy in AEW and no one is like, "but they should be in the same company!" I think there's some fans who've fantasy booked Bayley and Mercedes in Step Brothers, building bed forts and whatnot.

She probably should leave just to have new opponents and get some PPV time but it won't be a game changer and TK isn't exactly known for giving women a lot of time either.

Yeah but difference is no one cares about Buddy Matthews lol.

I think she will and should leave but I’m not interested in it. I’ve never really liked her work. That doesn’t mean I’m saying she’s not a good worker, it just ain’t for me.

If Chelsea Green has to be able to defend her title within 30 days then what was the excuse for Liv Morgan being able to hold it without defending it for over 100 days?

NJPW must be in trouble b/c I’ve never heard of either of these guys

Nah this was 100% the right way to go.

They are in rebuilding mode and have a good generation of young talent that they waited too long on pushing but the last year or so they have been committed to pushing them to the top. These two are actually the two I’ve long thought had the best chances to be franchise talents but they haven’t gotten the push that guys like Yota Tsuji and Shota Umino have.

Reason I said they waited too long is because virtually all the star veterans they could have used to put over this new generation are now gone either because they left or retired.

The only ones that are left are more like a B level star in that they could reasonably win a world title but aren’t face of the company types - so think more like an LA Knight, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens instead of a Roman Reigns, CM Punk, or Cody Rhodes.

They could have easily gone with one of those few remaining guys but they’ve all already won the IWGP title over the last 2-3 years and they were either terrible champions or their title reign accomplished nothing business wise.

Would have been icing on the cake if KO mentioned that in the promo
Yeah I didn't realize Punk was that short. KO is short by WWE's historical standards, listed as only 6'0" on Wikipedia and 5'11" on Cagematch. Don't see his height listed on his WWE bio. If he needs lifts that big to be face to face with KO, then he'd even measure out as short even for for an NCAA D3 point guard
