Let me know if you need a pen to sign that check to the children’s hospital. I like my odds more and more.![]()
Absolutely. I'm good when and if I lose that bet.Things aren't looking good for the people's champion unfortunately (this was predicted).
I have no issue cutting a check to children's. Don't worry
Hope you're ready to do the same with the upcoming arrests (splc had a bad day today, though obviously that doesn't count towards our other bet)
Who dis?Things aren't looking good for the people's champion unfortunately
Yeah, well...he's still got 2.5 years to figure it out. Quit selling Donald short!!!!!In March 2016, during an interview with The Washington Post, Donald Trump stated that he could eliminate the entire U.S. national debt—which was then about $19 trillion—"over a period of eight years".
"We're not a rich country. We're a debtor nation," Trump said. "We've got to get rid of the $19 trillion in debt."
When asked by interviewers how long it would take to pay off the total amount, Trump replied: "I think we can do it over a period of eight years."
More out of control spending thanks to BIDEN!! Think about how bad it would be if Trump hadn’t won!!

Yeah, the deficit isn’t linear. It’s not smooth. So one mo th is meaningless. I think you know that, but not sureJulys deficit put the 10 month total at 1.8 trillion
Easy math 180 billion/ month on the way to 2.2 trillion annual deficit.
No covid
No financial collapse like in 2008.
In 2015 under Obama it was an annual deficit of 400 billion.
In non- calamity years it should be much lower than 2.2 trillion.
This boomlet in AI should have us in a dot com economy.....but tariffs and war are inflationary keeping interest expense high.
data is available here...Yeah, the deficit isn’t linear. It’s not smooth. So one mo th is meaningless. I think you know that, but not sure
Here's a thought... maybe you don't quit your f'n job (slashing revenue) when you have debt to pay.Well…..
July 2026 – Entitlements + Interest
Category Amount Medicare $174.3 billion Social Security $140.7 billion Health (mainly Medicaid) $82.9 billion Income Security $64.1 billion Veterans’ Benefits & Services $55.2 billion Net Interest $104.2 billion
Combined total (entitlements + interest): ≈ $621.4 billion
That is the large majority of the $766 billion in total July spending.
July 2026 – Remaining spending (to complete the $766.3 billion total)
Category Amount National Defense $90.6 billion Administration of Justice $12.8 billion Transportation $12.6 billion Education, Training, Employment & Social Services $9.0 billion Community and Regional Development $6.5 billion General Government $6.7 billion Natural Resources and Environment $5.4 billion International Affairs $4.7 billion General Science, Space & Technology $3.6 billion Commerce and Housing Credit $2.6 billion Energy $2.6 billion Agriculture $1.7 billion Undistributed Offsetting Receipts (negative) –$13.8 billion Other smaller categories / residual ~$0.3 billion
Subtotal of the above: ≈ $144.9 billion
Grand total check:
Entitlements + Interest ($621.4B) + Remaining ($144.9B) = $766.3 billion
We have a spending problem and with no one willing to cut spending this will continue.
Can you do us a favor, and post maybe more than one month so we can see a trend? Not like deficits vary from one month to the next or anything. You wouldn’t be trying to manipulate opinions would you?
Yeah, the deficit isn’t linear. It’s not smooth. So one mo th is meaningless. I think you know that, but not sure
Here let me google that for you, esp since you know (or should know) that it has been horrible for his entire admin.

Someone needs to do a follow up on this.In March 2016, during an interview with The Washington Post, Donald Trump stated that he could eliminate the entire U.S. national debt—which was then about $19 trillion—"over a period of eight years".

ENTITLEMENTS ARE THE PROBLEM.
This board has been flooded with people who seem to want MORE entitlements. Medicare for all. Paid family leave. Free childcare. Holy **** guys.
We need to aggressively ween the public off the government teat. Then scale back entitlement spending in a meaningful way. It's the ONLY way to get our spending under control.
Yet we provide 4 trillion in tax cuts. Spend 1 billion plus per day now on a ridiculous war. Spent hundreds of millions on Trump vanity projects. Trillions more in Afghanistan.
Always have money for tax cuts and wars, then they downshift to the deficit is so bad now that we have to cut “entitlements” - like Social Security and Medicare - that I have already paid for (which they used to fund the ridiculous wars).
A real solution requires everyone to take a bite out of the Shiite sandwich.
If we never changed the 2000 tax rates, we'd have around $1 trillion additional revenue this year and cumulatively around $14 trillion more in the treasury.Well…..
