You don't seem to understand how the economics of college sports work. Ohio State and Notre Dame are bigger and more valuable brands than Kentucky. If they got $17-18 mil on their deals, common sense dictates UK will not be getting $25 mil.Okay, I know where you're coming from. But consider things from an advertising standpoint. Leaving off playoffs and The Ncaa tournament, The 2 football teams play 12 games a season. The Cats play 32. Blue Blood Kentucky is one of the most nationally televised teams in basketball. If I'm buying add space on a uniform, I want the Dale Earnhardt of basketball.
True, but it's not the bigger issue. It isn't going to stop here. This NIL is leading to the breakup of leagues, it's bankrupting programs (the kids with the contacts do not care). If collegiate sports wants to be around much longer it's likely going to have to bring back the "student"-athlete, meaning less talent.Ya this sucks but it beats milking the fans for endless money. I don't want to give one penny to the sorry state of college athletics.
So patch, brand, and sell every naming right there is. There must be a line somewhere for this absurdity that this will hopefully accelerate. Then again, we are well over what I thought was the line.
I loved that at the end. I about died at the theater when he broke that out.![]()
Color me excited in expectation of Trent Noah trying to sell me a Jackhawk 9000.

Kansas already has that one on contract.I will draw the line at p*rnhub patches!

We should pool our money together and make them wear a Rafters patch. I'm gonna for 5 bucks when I get paid again on the 1st.
Money changes everything, unfortunately.Ewwww.
I really hate seeing this stuff on blue blood jerseys.

I was thinking Bosely would be a sure thing.Kansas already has that one on contract.
I may have pulled that 25 mil out of my butt, but I do believe UK's 32 games vs their 12 warrants a comparable price. Now, would I like to be wrong, have J Batt pull some magic wheelin' dealin' rootin' tootin' Ric Flair sonofagun deal for UK to get that much?
Absofawkinglutely.
But it is no way realistic to think that's going to happen.

20 more games. And nobody watches OSU basketball.how do you know the patch isn’t for the basketball team as well? Are you assuming it’s only the football team and not the basketball team as well? Do we know that? Either way football viewership blows basketball out of the water. OSU/Michigan last year got 20 million viewers. The most watched Kentucky basketball game had 2.4 million viewers.
