I think is why more people are skipping having children. Children ruin intimate relationships. Children are amazing, and great, and can strengthen a friendship between parents but freedom is gone, and the longer the relationship is stressed the less likely you can just get it back when you are in your 50s. If you have supportive grandparents, or a large friend group who can babysit it is possible to maintain romance, but you aren't likely to get your "guy" time again without basically telling your wife you don't want to spend time with her.I think for many people...the person they marry is not the person they were dating.
Dating is great, going out, drinks, fun, concerts, laying in bed, going to your OWN place when you want to get away for a bit, making plans without "checking in" to see if it is okay...
Then you get married and the man is expected to change. It was super "cute" that he was out with the guys golfing for 8 hours and grabbing beers when you are dating...but now it is time to hit up Home Depot to but plants and spend 5 hours digging holes.
