Well that should mark the beginning of the end for the sport of football.................My company just started a program focusing on neuroscience, specifically tbi and cte. There are former Hawkeyes who have this and now this Iowan.
It will become a pandemic. I don't have kids but I would not let them play football.
Evil monkey dick corp.Well that should mark the beginning of the end for the sport of football.................
I don't see them recovering from this latest condemnation of yours here on.....ehhhh, what's this place called again?
Okay done. Now what?Go to his face @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset and tell him how hilarious cte is. Go on, big boy.

Robert Gallery on CTE, Depression, and the Psychedelic Therapy That Saved His Life
Former Iowa and NFL star Robert Gallery opens up about CTE, depression, and the psychedelic therapy he says saved his life.magazine.foriowa.org
Apparently it also makes you easily crash out online. I'd ask you to show me on the doll where the football hurt you, but you've made that location clear...............Evil monkey dick corp.
No one is asking anything to change bud. Being brain damaged is the new great thing. You should join that club; maybe you already have? I'm glad you find tbi and cte to be hilarious. Now go watch them foot balls.
What's your profession, that's so admirable? And oh yeah, we don't reach out to players. They connect with us. Perhaps you're too daft to see the causality and want to live life vicariously through a 18 year old. It's pointless to argue with people on here, I found that out long ago, but you're a special kind of idiot. I could care less about football or any other sport really, but facts are facts. Enjoy yourself, Al Bundy.Apparently it also makes you easily crash out online. I'd ask you to show me on the doll where the football hurt you, but you've made that location clear...............
I like to root for people like you trying to fight losing battles. Everyone needs a place to belong and something to keep them motivated in this life, (whether it's misguided or not) and you've found yours.
I wish you the best of luck in your quest to bring down the sport of football, but I also kindly ask you to let me mourn the death of this once great sport on my own. Thanks in advance.![]()
They are taking that risk because they are good at it and now they get educated and paid. None of the players are primarily motivated to play in order to entertain us. There has always been danger and its just common sense. Football is not the only sport with the risk either by far. When the NFL players started suing it was just a plain money grab. They all got paid.It has been painfully obvious for years there is a risk. When we started having kids, I wanted boys, and was really unsure how I'd handle the discussion. Only girls.
I admit, every now and then a little guilt creeps in when i watch college ball, someone else's family is taking that risk for my entertainment. But I guess now that they are getting paid, there is some form compensation for the risk.
Hopefully, yall or someone is moving towards a full summary of the data but this is pretty scary "On average, the brain donors had played about 12 years of football and died at age 60. About 28%, or 180 of them, didn’t have evidence of CTE in their brains. Another 163 had low-stage CTE, and 288 had high-stage CTE. As seen in previous studies, the number of reported concussions wasn’t associated with CTE incidence or severity."
Agreed. If and When they regret it later in life that doesn’t change the fact that they knew and they chose. They are taking that risk because they are good at it and now they get educated and paid. None of the players are primarily motivated to play in order to entertain us. There has always been danger and its just common sense. Football is not the only sport with the risk either by far. 18-35. Let's not exclude NFL players now. I'm not just an Iowa fan after all. I have to suffer through Vikings football seasons as well.Perhaps you're too daft to see the causality and want to live life vicariously through a 18 year old.
On the contrary. I quite enjoy it. Deep down I know you do to, which is why you still post here daily...........unless of course you had a sudden life event cause a change of heart, in which case:It's pointless to argue with people on here
I doubt that. We only discovered this board several months ago....................., I found that out long ago,
but you're a special kind of idiot.
Well thank Christ, we won't have to see you in anymore football or basketball game threads moving forward following your newfound hatred of sportsball......I'm sure of it.I could care less about football or any other sport really,
Okay then I will.but facts are facts. Enjoy yourself, Al Bundy.
Believe it or not, I used to like Don Nelson. I'm sorry to see him pass. It's in the title of my name. I'm an evil monkey. My job is to be a professional troll and it is a very admirable vocation.

Me too. Back when you actually had to have some grades to stay eligible, all the starters flunked out except Don and I believe he carried Iowa to 2nd place behind the OSU national champs who had Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek and Larry Siegfried...Believe it or not, I used to like Don Nelson. He would later join Havlicek as a Celtic. I remember he shot free throws one handed...
Absolutely. My son decided not to play football, but played soccer instead. Lots of concussions in Soccer too though. The concussion procedure is pretty good though. They had a Dr. on the sidelines and he was pretty much like a major league umpire. He gave EVERYONE the thumb and they'd be on the bench the rest of the game.Just so we are clear, other sports also have a risk of tbi and cte. Just that football leads the list. No league might be going bankrupt but there are many athletes who are going to be using a sippy cup unless more research on diagnostics and therapy is funded.
Problem is there is increasing data to suggest that subconcusive impacts lead to tbi and cte. These are generally underreported, unreported or sometimes not even noticed.Absolutely. Football has been killing players since the sport was invented. What isn't known is the number of players that took their lives or died from dementia related symptoms caused by CTE.My company just started a program focusing on neuroscience, specifically tbi and cte. I'm aware. He married local and his son, Sam, and mine played some basketball together...Glenn Vidnodic the stick used to work at Maher Brothers, the moving company.
Yep and I HATE this. I played football, basketball, and baseball in HS. And unlike most on here, I wasn't especially good at any of them. Just one more average Joe doing his best. I wouldn't want to trade the life lessions I got from organized sports. But damn... as a parent, one of the general goals is to get your kid to adulthood WITHOUT brain damage.Problem is there is increasing data to suggest that subconcusive impacts lead to tbi and cte.
