Jordan Williams would have AA last year
Brands Bros screw him and put In VV
Then he he comes back

did he have other offers
Does he just love the program

just a strange situation
Your first sentence is definitely not a fact. Your second sentence is very much partly a personal opinion. As far as other offers, if I was a betting man I'd bet he's at Iowa because he did not. At least nothing of consequence . But I have no inside info. And very true, a strange situation. Best of luck to him this year.

It’s not like Tom doesn’t want his best wrestlers in the lineup at nationals …… the kid obviously wasn’t living up to standards somewhere…… I’d guess academics but disclaimer so some ******* doesn’t hound me two days for a link….. I don’t know what happened

Tom keeps stuff close to the vest for sure

Hes also on his 3rd school and from the way it sounds the longer your in school its hard and harder to transfer credits to your new school making admissions harder i could be wrong about this but I thought I herd someone talking about that

When you start with a stupid premise you come to a stupid conclusion.

What on God’s green earth would make you think Williams would have AA’s last year?

The fact the staff sat him when he was the better guy should tell you something. He also stayed so sounds like some are more upset then he is. Maybe he said I messed up and I'm gonna stay and right my wrong instead of running from it 🤷. He's a Hawkeye and the fans should be cheering him on just like they do everyone else

How would he have all-Americaned last year? He lost to every single guy he should have and a few he shouldn't have. As I mentioned in a different thread, his best match was losing on an OT stalling call (that wasn't particularly deserved but was in Lincoln against the defending National champ so home cooking). Voinovich has made R16 at Nationals too before, it's not like JW has a track record for great success there either (R12, R16). Maybe he's finally figured it out with his freestyle success, but it's six months too late to help him do anything about being a huge bust last season.

I don't know if it was mental, physical or personal, but something was definitely holding him back last season. Tom said VV had more fight which could have meant any of the three reasons. Watching him this summer, he looked to be wrestling freely showing some of his talent, wrestled confidently and also showed endurance in matches that went the distance. I am a cautious hopeful for him this year. He will be under a lot of pressure, any slips will cause fan uproar and Im sure he knows that.

It was pretty clear he lacked strength for the weight class, wasn't in optimal shape, made poor tactical decisions in close matches, and multiple times the effort level wasn't good enough. It would be great if he improves on each of these things and turns it around this year. But his track record thus far suggests it isn't likely.
Unfortunately due to the state of the program, he's likely our best option.

JW is very talented and very dangerous. I have zero issue with benching him last year. He just wasn't getting it done. If he earns the spot this year and performs like he is capable of, he is a top 8 guy for sure. Will he do that, only he knows. I am really hoping so as that will be very beneficial for the team and himself. Hoping and expecting are 2 very different things. Tom needs to have a better backup plan this year if JW falls flat again and I think he will. I am team Jordan if he wins the spot. If not, next man up. Could be another great resurgence story, or another flop. Time will tell.

TNT are the best at turning young men around. Just saying, not predicting.
Limited potential, a utility infielder. A history of being unpredictable, seems improbable that circumstance (and performance) will change. This guy will not be an overachiever.
