Would you invest?
Ive been looking at the LSU deal, it's very interesting. I think others are right that they expect to get any profit that the investors made as TAF donations, but it's got me thinking - would I invest in MSU athletics right now?
You break even at a 6-6 football season. Every win over .500 is 8% profit. Every loss under .500 is a loss of 5%.
You break even with an NIT bid for men's and women's basketball. An NCAA Tournament bid is a 10% profit, with a 3% for every NCAAT win. Not making the NIT is a loss of 10%
You break even with a regional host or road regional win in baseball. A Super Regional is an 5% profit and a CWS is an extra 3%
You get a 2% boost for every NCAA Tournament made in other sports.
Last year, MSU Athletics would have lost 12%. I'm invested but I'm calling for leadership changes.
