Yes, assuming the QBs stay healthy, this is the season the Hawks have a 300-yard passing game. If a semi-healthy Cade could hit 250 with the 2024 receivers, then it should happen this year.

Quite honestly, though, I don't care if it happens as long as the offense is productive. If the Hawks have a big lead and the starter has 290 yards, I'm good with QB2 coming in rather than QB1 hitting the 300 mark.

Iowa hasn't had a qb throw for more than 2k in a season since Stanley as well. That's only 154 yards per game and it also hasn't been accomplished. Heck 2 of those teams had 14 games to try and pull it off which drops the average to 143 per game.

Don't think we'll see it this season, either, and although it would be nice to get that "stat monkey" off our backs, it's not really that big of a deal. Although, I believe Iowa was 4-0 in Stanley's four 300-yard games. Gotta go back to Rudock to find losses when the QB throws for 300 yards.

Somehow, Iowa is I think 53-24 in those 77 games since Stanley's game against Illinois in '19.

You can thank KF and BF for that incredible statistic. But it ends this year. Iowa could throw for over 300 yards against all three of its opening opponents, including ISU. Just depends if Lester wants to do it. He has the guys to get it done. I'm confident of that.

I’m optimistic about Evans James as well.

check out his stats at Furman last year. Yes, it was at Furman. But he had 60+ catches and was super consistent EVERY game. Even had 6 catches against Clemson. So he showed up in their big game too.

Stanley was talented but wildly inconsistent. He looked like an easy Heisman Trophy winner vs. Ohio State, and then looked like he'd never played football before vs. Wisconsin. He missed wide open receivers for what would have been game-winning scores vs. Penn State. But yes, when you compare Stanley to the likes of Deacon Hill (OMG), Spencer Petras, Joe Labas, Cade McNamara and gang, yes, Stanley was a good one.
