Wonder how much this is going to add to the NIL coffers.
Good to hear. I hope it’s not with another company that’s a letter shy of one of George Carlin’s seven dirty words.Good to be OSU. There are probably 5 schools that can demand that type of deal.
Interesting to see if ours settles. I don't want to give too much away but we are close to signing one too. Not sure if it will happen prior to football season starting, but it will be the best sponsorship deal we've ever signed.
If it's the one I originally heard we were in discussions with, it's a dream partnership. Especially for Rutgers.Good to hear. I hope it’s not with another company that’s a letter shy of one of George Carlin’s seven dirty words.
Any chance?USC will likely sign a big one too, imo.
Ours will be more in the Illinois range, which would be incredible and a huge W for the Keli and the dept. as a whole if they can pull this off.
Not just them. Every big league school will very soon. Maybe even before the season. Illinois just announced. So Oregon, Michigan, bama, usc, Georgia, the Texas schools, state penn will soon follow
The new arms race. ND currently at the top. Expect Texas to get a doozie very soon…followed by someone else out-doing them! Not just them. Every big league school will very soon. Maybe even before the season. Illinois just announced.
Rather not say much but it's much better than Prudential if it comes to fruition.Any chance?

BetterGoldman Sachs baby
PIF, Saudi money!!Better
I would think it would have to be more of a retail company.Goldman Sachs baby
Draftkings!Better
I always question the economics of things like this, but these actually seem to make sense. The amount of time a notre dame or Ohio state jersey is on prime time network tv is crazy. And to your point, even lower level teams like ours get a lot of exposureBeyond the brand awareness I’ve got to imagine the exposure is a major selling point. Unlike the NFL where outside of the nationally televised games most teams play on regional networks - the way the contracts for the P4 have played out even the smaller teams on the league networks are nationally televised.
Considering JNJ is basically on campus in NB, I hope it’s them. That would be the best thing for RU.BCU would be great for them.
and DraftKings based in Boston.BCU would be great for them.
J&J is not really a sexy name anymore since they spun off Kenvue and some others. But would be a good name for Rutgers.Considering JNJ is basically on campus in NB, I hope it’s them. That would be the best thing for RU.
It's one of the largest Pharma companies in the world.J&J is not really a sexy name anymore since they spun off Kenvue and some others. But would be a good name for Rutgers.
J and J's revenues were almost $100B in 2025. 6% increase since 24. Sofi who ND signed with were $4.5B. J and J's Global HQ is literally on the Rutgers campus. If it was them, they'd be a dream partner. But so would other companies in NJ.J&J is not really a sexy name anymore since they spun off Kenvue and some others. But would be a good name for Rutgers.
But SoFi is?!? If it weren’t because its name is plastered in that giant LA stadium most would not know nor care.J&J is not really a sexy name anymore since they spun off Kenvue and some others. But would be a good name for Rutgers.
SoFi is a client of mine so I know them well. It's a known brand so I am fine with it.But SoFi is?!? If it weren’t because its name is plastered in that giant LA stadium most would not know nor care.
JNJ is also a client of mine. Most people still think of them for the failed COVID shot / talcum powder lawsuits. Better to partner with another company. Having NJ connections doesn't need to be a requirement.JNJ’s stock has been like a rocket ship, blasting 60% higher in past year to all time highs this July. I think it is a long shot as a Rutgers athletics sponsor but I’m sure Tate and Keli are trying.
Maybe if JNJ needs to hire a lot of young workers, they’ll do Rutgers jersey patches as a recruiting expense.
The SHI naming rights agreement is an example of this. SHI is based in Somerset.
SHI's human resources boss is a Rutgers grad.
"Approximately 500 of SHI's 2,000 New Jersey-based employees are Rutgers University graduates, by far the most represented by any college or university among the company's 6,000-member global workforce," reads the naming rights press release.
Big deal. Who cares about promoting a pharma company. Again, nothing against J&J but if they haven't jumped onboard already, they are not interested. It's one of the largest Pharma companies in the world.
Who cares about doing business with a company that does $100B in revenue lol?Big deal. Who cares about promoting a pharma company. Again, nothing against J&J but if they haven't jumped onboard already, they are not interested.
What does their revenue have to do with anything? You might say more $ to pay a team. However we have seen in other deals that is not always the case. We are not a great brand so we will practically take anything. I hope Keli is able to pull off a J&J, but if they really wanted us, get it done.Who cares about doing business with a company that does $100B in revenue lol?
Wild.
I’m not saying who it is or isn’t but J and J? The company with global HQ on our campus? You really don’t see how having a partnership with one of the greatest historic brands in history would be a massive W? Yea, news flash. More money means more potential avenues for partnership. J and J is the second largest biotech company on the planet with a market cap of $640B. A top tier pharma company? That’s endless partnership opportunities for a university. Sofi? Pittance compared to J and J. Sofi currently trading at $15.50. J and J $256.What does their revenue have to do with anything? You might say more $ to pay a team. Then it should be easy for Keli to close a great deal. Weird it hasn’t happened since it seems like a no brainer.I’m not saying who it is or isn’t but J and J? NJ is full pharma companies though. Any number would do the trick.
Indeed. Closing great deals at Rutgers is super easy. Happens all the time. Then it should be easy for Keli to close a great deal. Weird it hasn’t happened since it seems like a no brainer.
I’ve been a fan (50+ years) and season ticket holder for almost 40 years. Nothing is easy for this program. Nobody is throwing money at us because there is barely any return. I really hope she can pull it off but my enthusiasm is dwindling.
My post was sarcastic. You guys are just too serious sometimes. It's never easy for anything with this school.Indeed. Closing great deals at Rutgers is super easy. Happens all the time.
The only one saying no brainer is you. But yea, for Rutgers it’s a no brainer.
