Good to be OSU. There are probably 5 schools that can demand that type of deal.
Interesting to see if ours settles. I don't want to give too much away but we are close to signing one too. Not sure if it will happen prior to football season starting, but it will be the best sponsorship deal we've ever signed.

If it's the one I originally heard we were in discussions with, it's a dream partnership. Especially for Rutgers.
USC will likely sign a big one too, imo.
Ours will be more in the Illinois range, which would be incredible and a huge W for the Keli and the dept. as a whole if they can pull this off.

Not just them. Every big league school will very soon. Maybe even before the season. Illinois just announced.
Chase and OSU makes sense due to the huge presence they have in Columbus.
The new arms race. ND currently at the top. Expect Texas to get a doozie very soon…followed by someone else out-doing them!

I'll be interested to see if any school would make the jump to a gambling site or alcohol. Unlikely due to the backlash, but plenty of $$$ out there for anyone that did.
Beyond the brand awareness I’ve got to imagine the exposure is a major selling point. Unlike the NFL where outside of the nationally televised games most teams play on regional networks - the way the contracts for the P4 have played out even the smaller teams on the league networks are nationally televised.
I always question the economics of things like this, but these actually seem to make sense. The amount of time a notre dame or Ohio state jersey is on prime time network tv is crazy. And to your point, even lower level teams like ours get a lot of exposure
Considering JNJ is basically on campus in NB, I hope it’s them. That would be the best thing for RU.
J&J is not really a sexy name anymore since they spun off Kenvue and some others. But would be a good name for Rutgers.
JNJ’s stock has been like a rocket ship, blasting 60% higher in past year to all time highs this July. I think it is a long shot as a Rutgers athletics sponsor but I’m sure Tate and Keli are trying.
Maybe if JNJ needs to hire a lot of young workers, they’ll do Rutgers jersey patches as a recruiting expense.

J and J's revenues were almost $100B in 2025. 6% increase since 24. Sofi who ND signed with were $4.5B. J and J's Global HQ is literally on the Rutgers campus. If it was them, they'd be a dream partner. But so would other companies in NJ.
But SoFi is?!? If it weren’t because its name is plastered in that giant LA stadium most would not know nor care.
