Ok, so put Curry in the 90s when defenders could absolutely harass offensive guys. What do his shooting percentages look like? See how that works?
I do think Hand Checking and the physicality that they allowed in that day would definitely affect modern guys more than some people think. That’s why iso scorers were so important. You had to be able to get your shot anywhere on the court to be effective because they were allowed to harass you so effectively all game.

Rigggggght. Because lower top 50 players in the league win 6 conference titles and 4 championships. Exactly half of each of those without Kevin Durant, BTW. So Klay Thompson and Draymond Green must be 1st ballot HOF players, right? Right?
I can name 10 guards better than Curry.1Jordan2. Stockton 3.West, 4. Berry,5Bryant 6 Sam Jones 7.Hal Greer 8.Oscar Robertson 9.George Gervin 10.Dewayne Wade 11. Reggie Miller. I would rank Curry about 12. He brings nothing but shooting,as good as that is,to the table where all the guys in front of him were better all around players, most in eras where the rules and the officiating were not tailored for shooters as they are now.

Gervin? Greer? Jones? Miller? Come on man, Steph is better than all of those players

The Curry hate is just unbelievable. If Steph played for Kentucky, he would be regarded as GOAT.

First part right, second part wrong.

Calling Curry the GOAT player is a troll job. Twisting yourself into a pretzel to deny he's the greatest perimeter shooter of all-time is almost equally so.

The part that I quoted, all of it, is wrong.

Hes not the GOAT and this fanbase wouldnt think so even if he went to Kentucky.

I didnt read all this thread, but is there a lot of people saying he isnt the greatest shooter of all time? I see people saying hes not the greatest guard of all time and thats a whole different debate. But i think everyone acknowledges that hes the best shooter ever (and this ability also turned this game into absolute dog poop btw)

He got more than shooting, he is an excellent ball handler and distributor as well. He is a pure PG. Deadly because of his shooting. Easily a top 5 PG imho because of that alone.

The Curry hate is just unbelievable. If Steph played for Kentucky, he would be regarded as GOAT. But unlike most, I can see without Blue and White glasses. At least MJJ knows what he's talking about and can see the greatness in Steph. The GSW FO has let down, if not betrayed Steph Curry.

OK, you lose all credibility when you include Berry, Sam Jones, and Hal Greer. And no, Wade is not better than Steph, nor is Reggie, and I love Reggie. Curry has fundamentally changed the game. Sorry if the truth hurts.
Wade doesn’t even play the same position.
