Johnathan Santucci, who is now listed as the Mets #2 prospect on MLB Pipeline, has been promoted to Syracuse. If the Mets trade away half their pitching staff, as is possible, we may see him sooner rather than later.

PITCHERS WHO WILL BE TRADED
Peralta
Raley
Minter
These upcoming free agents are 100% gone. The only question is what will be the return.

PITCHERS WHO MAY BE TRADED
Holmes
Weaver
Brazoban
Perez
Duarte
IMO Holmes is very close to the "will be" category. The others are maybes. I doubt anyone's interested in Perez or Duarte, but maybe one of them will bring back a lottery ticket.

PITCHERS WHO WON'T BE TRADED
McLean
Scott
Thornton
Although... If the Mets are able to sell high on Thornton, I would not be completely shocked if they do.

PITCHERS WHO CAN'T BE TRADED
Manaea
Senga
Williams
Untradable contracts.

Someone should ask Cohen … how would you feel if I told you in October of 2024 as your team gets ready to play in the the NLCS, that in July of 2026 the Marlins are in the midst of a 12 game losing streak and the Mets would still be EIGHT GAMES BACK of those Marlins … Would you fire your GM ?

Not sure if this is paywalled, but if not, it's worth a read. A lot of anonymous player comments as to what went wrong. My favorite: "Everyone in here is great, but sometimes you need a guy who is gonna make things uncomfortable".

Lindor is the only player who went on the record in this story, and the only one who was willing to point the finger at himself.

It's paywalled but legitimately available on Yahoo:

That's nice of Lindor, but based on several accounts (and just my take on those several accounts, could be wrong), he seems to have the public face that he shares with media and the crowd, but he may have been partially behind running Pete, McNeil and Nimmo out of town. With Lindor being injured so much of the year, nobody really stepped up to be the clubhouse player leader. Couple that with parting ways with the entire coaching staff under Medoza, that created a leadership vacuum. Star players are not necessarily great (or even good) leaders. Don't see any leaders on this team, just a bunch of lost followers.

This quote speaks volumes:

“One of the most underrated things about baseball is camaraderie and familiarity,” one player said. “I think it’s the most important thing probably in any sport and we didn’t have that.”

“Need a guy who is gonna make things uncomfortable”? Well I am uncomfortable with Freddy Pitching, Polanco batting and fielding, Wags being on the team, Baty playing first, just to name a few.

By things, I think he was referring to fans, so all is well. . . . 😜

Rumors teams still want him. Hearing Savannah Bananas, Toms River North Little League just 2 name 2.
I think you will be very surprised. With the expanded playoffs and overall parity, there will be more buyers than sellers. This will be a seller's market unlike any we have seen before.

I am certain that there are multiple GM's out there who believe that they can get Peralta fixed in time for October.

I am fully aware. Not sure you always get my humor.

The good news just keeps coming

1) We all know that the major league Mets suck. That is not news.

2) We also all know (I hope) that minor league won-loss records are irrelevant. All that matters is development. The Mets track record of developing prospects is a fair point for debate, but it has nothing to do with wins and losses

Agree- w/l in the minors means nothing...as long as we continue to just produce complete stud players every year!!!!

And even when we do- when a Stearns signing that sucks get healthy, we will sit out stud prospects...lol

No matter how anyone tries to slice it- Stearns has completely Ashed the Mets.

IMO Mets are correct in trying to showcase Robert this week. So far that is not working, but you gotta try.

EDIT: Unless you mean Tyrone Taylor, in which case, STFU! :)

Mets game for tonight already postponed. Will be rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader tomorrow.

Due to the storms in the Northeast, Clay Holmes will be making his (probably) final rehab start tonight for St. Lucie. He is scheduled to throw 60 pitches. More than a few scouts will be in attendance.

Final line on Clay Holmes tonight - 4 innings, 59 pitches (37 strikes) 0 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks, 3 K's. Hard to read anything into that line, given the level of competition. (Low A) He will be on track to start again on Sunday, but for whom?

Gotta feel sorry for the Dunedin Blue Jays. They get done with Holmes, only to face another rehabbing major leaguer in Austin Warren.

LOL. Kremer seems like a real joy. He proceeded to give up 8 runs in 4 innings in the game. Another X comment wondered if Kremer could see the strike zone.

Before the 2016 trading deadline, the Mets DID trade Nimmo for Jay Bruce. Done deal. However, as with Wilmer Flores the year before, the deal fell through because somebody didn't like somebody's medical report.

Instead, the Mets acquired Bruce for Dilson Herrera (a big time prospect at the time) and Max Wotell.

Jorge Polanco is the absolute worst Free Agent signing in history! Congrats David!!!
Now now just hold on. Hearing rumors Bad News Bears are keeping tabs on Polonco. Mets want Kelly Leak in Return. Bears counteroffer is Mike Engleberg. They have until 3pm Tuesday to pull the trigger.😉
