Probably 90% of this is going to football for NIL. They are hell bent on buying a NC. I guess at the end of the day they can buy 3 or 4 more 5 stars or top portal guys every year.
Yet we have PSU fans scratching their heads why we don't have top 5 classes.....and sadly they are on this site daily and still have yet to figure it out.
Maybe we can get PNC.

Kraft working on jersey patch deal for PSU

I wonder, will these teams - which will soon include PSU - have to be introduced as such and such university sponsored by ___________________(fill in the corporation, Bank, etc) ? I fully understand PSU will have to follow suit , but what will be the payback to the sponsor(s)? This will be interesting to follow as the major conference teams make deals. Kraft better not be late to make a major deal ala OSU and ND. It has to be a big and nationally recognized brand willing to offer $ in the neighborhood (even if a few million lower) of OSU & ND.
We need to get in this game or be totally left behind. I am actually surprised how small the patch is on the OSU uniform. It could be worse like the Real Madrid unis where the Emirates brand dominates.
We need to find a sponsor who has deep pockets. Hershey is a possibility I would think. Although not the greatest brand "fit", athletic performance aligned with junk food candy bars but that has not stopped them from being a major March Madness sponsor with Reese's.
The talent procurement aspect of college football and basketball has dissolved into the professional model of paying players. "Recruiting" is an outdated term like "student athlete". Step up and spend or be 2nd or third tier. Maybe when we get a sponsor we can give the hoops team some love with a little extra thrown in their direction.
What does "move cautiously" mean? What until all the other big names in CFB make deals?
Why can't we get Ohio State as a sponsor? We can put the 'OSU Buckeyes' on our jerseys and collect millions from them in advertising fees.
Probably debating competing offers from FanDuel, DraftKings, and Happy Valley Casino.

Very very dissimilar in the most important way, actually.
In that "college" football (and basketball I suppose) are the only professional sports leagues where the "owners" expect the fans to not only provide them with revenue via ticket sales and viewership - but also to pay for their player payroll on top of that.
You know who should REALLY have a union? Who - if they had a union and acted in the best interests of "all" - could actually improve the sport? The FANS.
JK, of course, that ain't going to happen.
But IF they did they would be the one group that if operating in solidarity could bring some sanity to the whole fiasco and put the grifters back in the box.

It's clear PSU is the wealthiest winningest best school ever....it's just rigged against them by "the man". $$$'s don't matter in 2026 at all. I think it's just not you being in charge.....startup your BS YouTube stuff again maybe....I'm sure that will get PSU over the line. Hell how you didn't amaze them all and fix everything in your fist run is a mystery all in itself.

This is 100% accurate. If we do not get current with all of this, we will be left behind. I continue to circle back to Kraft. He gets credit for the Adidas deal, but overall we seem to be falling further behind our peers. This is a professional sport now. You recruit guys with potential to be developed. You pay for the ready-made talent.
Unfortunately he is distracted by the stadium renovation fundraising efforts. Either he needs to be replaced with someone that can balance all of our needs and priorities, or he needs additional support staff. We are pretty unique to be going through a massive and costly stadium renovation during this critical time period.
The majority of people don’t even know who or what Cencora is. There’s no better way to make everyone aware than to put a Cencora patch on the PSU jersey for a boat load of sponsored money. They have the deepest pockets. Make it happen Kraft.

As I have stated before on this board, O$U is positioned to be near the top of sponsorship money because of where the university is located. Major financial corporations (including insurance companies) are the biggest part of the economy there. Going to a FB game there, you see multiple corporate tents just outside the stadium to provide pregame and game time festivities for their employees. Nationwide, JP Morgan, Farmers Insurance, etc. are some of the corporations and they all want to support the FB team. It’s a place where money talks.
What is more costly, his contract buyout or more support staff?

The problem is JP Morgan Chase couldn't care less if you hate them. Most of their customers probably already do.
I think that would be a pretty hard sell. Hard pill to swallow and all that.
