OSU and other traditional football powers will get the most traction out of these deals, I suspect. Major regular-season college football clashes regularly draw 10 million to 18 million viewers and top teams average over 8 million viewers, while elite college basketball regular-season games typically peak between 1.5 million and 3 million viewers. Being a top football team means more in shoe money and in these sorts of ventures. Football rich is truly rich.

That’s more than our contract with Nike. I have never understood when I hear those numbers if it included or excluded equipment. This $17M is all money.

I feel like Jim Beam (and to a lesser extent Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey) are missing a golden opportunity to sponsor based on the lax NCAA rules governing alcohol sponsors now. Not sure UK Athletics or the SEC would allow it. I'm sure there would have to be approvals gallore.
Fill-Ups in Sandgap has offered UK 3 grand to place their logo on the FB teams jersey. Don't know if its been announced yet.
Yes basketball is 1.5-3 mil viewers for big games. But they play 35-40 times.

Mich St signed a 10-year, $40m deal while Batt was AD there, which, seeing what OSU and Notre Dame got, looks like a pretty good deal for the sponsor and bad deal for MSU. Hopefully Batt can get us something better now that the market has been reset.
Get UPS and Ford on the line. SoFi just inked a 18M deal with Notre Dame today as well. We could really use that kinda cash for FB and Basketball per year. That is 9-10M a year for FB and 8M for basketball. That’s two stud starters for B ball and a lot of depth in FB.
That was early on and he at least guaranteed funds early. That’s still 4M dollars a year for one sponsor. Get a main one or a couple small ones for arm patches.
