A gift from an estate sale. AI says it’s late 1960’s-early 70’s. It’s about 3 feet wide

I like the corn liquor jug the wildcat on the far left is holding.
I’m not selling, thanks. It was a gift from my daughter. From what I could find, it’s about 1970, made by a local company. If you know or find out more, please let me know.

That’s cool. Is it a towel or something? I used to have pieces from when they redid the floor at Rupp. No clue what happened to them and I had a bunch of them. Don’t even remember how I got them.

Man, I think people get too hung up on coach-speak. I think it can both be true that Noah is killing it in practice and yet also this is some coach-speak to further motivate one of his players that needs the positive reinforcement. Every player is different — some guys need a kick in the tail and some guys need a positive boost. Reading anything beyond that is unwise imo.
That said, I am not of the mind that Noah is terrible. I think he’s better than many say — he’s a few extra shots going in from being a valuable roster piece. With others around to create shots, he can be the offensive specialist that teams need. Not everyone needs to be a shot creator. A 3 point specialist on offense, a pretty good rebounder and a limited but willing defender. Those are good to have.
And no, i don’t care if he is from Hazard or the Honduras.
I think Noah is a few extra shots away from being able to give somebody some breather minutes. I don't think he's terrible. I also don't ever want to hear a Kentucky coach tell us a player like him is standing out or being the best player so far this summer.
I get the coach talk stuff and all. Didn't really get hung up on what he said. Just had to make a point because bum thinks as a fanbase we can't criticize coaches and players and still be the best fanbase in America.
I know what Noah is when it comes to basketball. He's not close to the best player on this team so it's not his fault Pope put him in the spotlight like that. Just say Noah has impressed so far or something.
BeatleBum is a very loyal poster. He doesn’t see the value in being overly critical. I think that’s fine. It’s just a different perspective on fan behavior. I think fair criticism is part of what makes Kentucky special. We know the game, or at least we know it, by and large, better than other fanbases. I think philosophically there are some things certain posters will never be able to agree on. I think knowing your own methodology is helpful for knowing what is worth engaging with and what isn’t.
For example, I’m a “win at all costs” guy. This means I do not see the role of a coach as being a “positive representation of the school” first. Nor do I place a lot of stock in “doing things the right way” as a basketball program. I see the coach as a utility — hired to win games at the highest level and do it without harming the school by way of violations. That simple. I already know that I’m not going to agree with someone who cares about how nice the coach is or whether or not they are a good example for young men. That stuff doesn’t matter to me. So I don’t engage people that have that view. They have their opinion and I have mine.
If you see me engaging a topic, it usually means I respectfully disagree with the other person. I think there’s something I can learn from them about a topic. I can tell you’re motivated similarly and I’d say agreeing to disagree is ok on things that fall within the area of philosophical differences about macro-topics like correct fan disposition. Hard to change someone’s mind about that, particularly if they are entrenched and unwilling to reconsider their deeply held beliefs.

I seem to recall that on a decal (the old school kind of decal) years ago, and others using that same design. One I remember is "A Kentucky Man Needs No Introduction".
I see everyone fanning different. Not one time does it make me try to talk down on the entire fanbase. I like when people disagree and just say why. Not just go to simpleton mode then try and flip the script.
I agree. There’s nuances and everyone has differences but there are a few tentpoles that will separate people. There’s a reason why so many people are talking past one another.
If you believe supporting the coach = supporting the program, that’s going to have very different expectations for fan behavior than someone who sees a tension between supporting the coach and the program.
There’s just some things people won’t agree with. I cannot imagine being upset by something a coach says in a presser but many people hang onto sound bites for years and have a burning hatred over it. Hard for me to find common ground with that other than to empathize and say “I’m sorry you feel that way” lol.

I've had this exact one since the 70's. I also have a t shirt that is very similar but it has only three cats. There is still one holding the corn liquor jug on the t shirt as well.
